@taipan168 It’s one of the few places I want to go to - not bc I wouldn’t love to travel everywhere but I have never been overseas and am nearly 50 so keeping the list short. Israel is a fascinating place and a diverse range of unusual people. Why wouldn’t you want to go?

We keep our shoes in the front of the house in cubes. When people arrive in the house they offer to take their shoes off. No one cares.
We never make them do it, fwiw. We don’t own this house so dirty carpet is kinda a hassle.

Hosting an event or a party at your home and requiring that guests remove their shoes when they arrive is rude. And weird. And reveals an irrational concern over dirt and germs. If you insist on doing this, make sure the invitation includes a warning!

I ended up booking a hotel room near the hospital last night and I'm glad I did - the motorway I would normally use is completely blocked this morning 🫠

So not only do I have stress about receiving my scan results tomorrow, due to the fuel protests, I can add stress about even getting to the hospital in Dublin for the appointment and then again on Friday for my chemo 🥴
