@XanderMcGuire7 @7AFL The AFL caused this mess, it’s an own goal that you don’t even need video review for. Not that I trust they will get the next decision right either?? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The first round of the AFL season will look different next year - that’s not to say it will revert exactly back to a traditional Round One structure. Expect northern markets to prioritised - and for it to potentially be drawn out over longer number of days. Plus, as reported on @7NewsMelbourne months ago - the AFL is also weighing up moving the season back by a couple of weeks to accommodate for the 150th Anniversary Test from the 11th-15th of March. Plenty for the AFL to lock in over the coming weeks - but the clubs say they are sick of the competitive imbalance of the current Opening Round structure… and the league says it’s listening. @7AFL @7NewsMelbourne
7AFL@7AFL

.@XanderMcGuire7 on the messaging from AFL House on Opening Round in 2027 👇 "Opening Round or the first round of the season won't look anything like it did this year." "They (the AFL) are zeroing in on a Round One type of fixture where all 18 clubs will be involved." "It will still be weighted very heavily towards the northern states to make sure they get the boost they really want."

Something is really bothering me about the Ben Roberts-Smith case. Nobody likes being a hypocrite. Unlike most, I actually go for a walk when I suspect myself of being one. On one hand, this prosecution stinks of liberal bias. Out of thousands of potential war crimes cases the social justice warrior police chief could have pursued, she picked THE most decorated soldier on the entire continent. That isn’t justice. That’s a public humiliation ritual. On the other hand, I do believe actual war criminals should stand trial regardless of rank or honors. And I know what’s coming: “John, Roberts-Smith already lost the 2023 defamation case. Justice Besanko found he committed the murders.” Yes. On the balance of probabilities. 51 percent. That’s the civil standard. Criminal conviction requires 99 percent. The same fragile evidence that barely cleared a coin flip is now supposed to send a man to prison for life. Here’s why my post is not hypocrisy. When the school got hit in Iran weeks ago, I said mistakes aren’t war crimes, but if it was intentional or grossly negligent, someone should be court-martialed. That strike is recent. Physical. Investigable. The Roberts-Smith allegations are 20 years old. And here’s what the Brereton Inquiry, for all its 510 witnesses & four years of work, could never get: No crime scene access. The Taliban didn’t let investigators into Uruzgan. No Afghan witnesses interviewed. No secured scene. No blood-spatter analysis. No DNA No autopsies. No recovered bodies. No weapons tied to victims. The investigators themselves admitted they “lacked access to Afghan crime scenes and were missing the physical evidence that would normally anchor a murder prosecution.” So what’s left? Memory. Twenty-year-old memory from men in the fog of war. The science is unambiguous. Countless research studies confirms memory is reconstructive: later suggestion, media exposure, and repeated questioning distort it. This is the textbook misinformation effect. Confidence and accuracy decouple within months, let alone decades. Studies on soldiers who suffer PTSD show the gaps get even larger. I admittedly don’t know 🇦🇺 law but US courts admit decades-old testimony but warn juries it is inherently fragile, not scientific proof. Australia is treating it as load-bearing concrete. The media says “20 former soldiers testified against him.” Fine. Was all their testimony actually against him? How clear was it? Did 20 people watch him murder a civilian in broad daylight? And even if they did, you still have to prove the dead man wasn’t Taliban. In Uruzgan. In 2009. Without a body. Some will say I’m being pedantic. Yes. I. Am. Because Ben Roberts-Smith was charged with murder, and under war-crimes law the same act can be framed as murder, willful killing, or killing a person hors de combat depending on the framing. How it gets framed sets precedent for every future war. And here’s the question nobody in Canberra wants asked: Why is the trigger-puller in the dock while the officers who wrote the rules of engagement, approved the missions, and signed the after-action reports keep their pensions? The Victoria Cross winner hangs. The chain of command walks. Past “War crime” cases with more hard evidence remain “unsolved” That isn’t accountability. That’s a scapegoat ritual. You do not get a Victoria Cross just for killing. You get it for extraordinary gallantry, valour, self-sacrifice & devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy. And here is what Australia just told every soldier watching: the reward for a VC is fame which will make you a target for future show trials built on 20-year-old memories, prosecuted by a police chief with no combat but more ribbons on her uniform than you. If murder can be proven without hard evidence decades later. That isn’t justice even if he is guilty. Proof of guilt matters. That’s a Marxist humiliation ceremony leading to national strategic disarmament by lawfare.
John Ʌ Konrad V@johnkonrad

He won a Victoria Cross, the equivalent of a Medal of Honor, for killing Taliban. Now, two decades later, he’s arrested for killing Taliban. His VC citation: As he approached the structure, Corporal Roberts-Smith identified an insurgent grenadier in the throes of engaging his patrol. Corporal Roberts-Smith instinctively engaged the insurgent at point-blank range resulting in the death of the insurgent. With the members of his patrol still pinned down by the three enemy machine gun positions, he exposed his own position in order to draw fire away from his patrol, which enabled them to bring fire to bear against the enemy. His actions enabled his Patrol Commander to throw a grenade and silence one of the machine guns. Seizing the advantage, and demonstrating extreme devotion to duty and the most conspicuous gallantry, Corporal Roberts-Smith, with a total disregard for his own safety, stormed the enemy position killing the two remaining machine gunners.

Today the independent Reserve Bank Monetary Policy Board increased the cash rate by 25 basis points. We already had an inflation challenge in our economy but the war in the Middle East is making this challenge worse. At a time of immense global instability, this will put even more pressure on families and businesses. Many Australians were already doing it tough and are now feeling the impact of conflict in the Middle East through higher petrol prices as well. That’s why we’re rolling out responsible cost of living relief and taking action to give consumers a fair go at the bowser, through higher penalties, more surveillance and more supply.

Just in case you don’t know: If you want to see a global crisis, let Australia run out of fuel… Did you know that Australia is the 22nd largest exporter on earth. 15th largest country by measure of GDP. As far as minerals go, we are the 3rd largest exporter of minerals on earth but per capita, we are by far the largest. We are the 3rd largest overall energy exporter on the planet, largest of the OECD countries. We are the Largest exporter of iron ore #1 $87,700,000,000 87.7 billion dollars or 55.9% of the global total. Largest lithium producer #1 61,000 tons 46.9% of global supply. Largest exporter of zinc #1 $2,2100,000,000 2.21 billion dollars Largest exporter for barley #1 $2,370,000,000 2.37 billion dollars Largest exporter for Bauxite #1 110 million tonnes Largest exporters of Liquid Natural Gas #1 in volume #3 in revenue. $27,400,000,000 27.4 billion dollars Largest wheat exporter #1 $10,200,000,000 Largest exporter of sheep #1 49% of global supply $1,500,000,000 Largest exporter of opals #1 90% of global supply. Largest exporter of manganese #1 $1,390,000,000 2nd Largest beef exporter after Brazil. 12 billion dollars. $12,200,000,000 2nd Largest gold exporter #2 310 tons annually 34.2 billion dollars 3rd Largest grain exporter #3 14% of global supply. Large exporter of copper #3 $64,200,000,000 - 7.1% 2nd largest exporter of uranium. #2 4.1 billion tonnes We have 30% of the known global uranium reserves. 5th Largest exporter of silver #5 Number 8 exporter of aluminium #8 $4.1 billion dollars 4.5% of global supply 26th Largest exporter of oil #26 $7,540,000,000 $7.54 billion dollars Australia is the 4th Largest coal producer of coal on earth. We are the Largest coal exporter on earth. 50% of worlds sea born coal comes from Australia. 150 million coming from the mighty Hunter which is the largest single coal export port on earth. It is completely irresponsible to allow a country that feeds and powers the world to get into a situation where we may need to pull up trucks because we have a fuel shortage… And you still have to work and get only 50% of your earnings? You kidding me! Where’s the money?

Anthony Albanese has refused to condemn Grace Tame's vile behaviour and rhetoric at the protests. He was asked in Question Time if he would unequivocally condemn Tame but he refused, saying he wasn't looking for political opportunities. Albanese talks at us about unity, but is silent when a clear line should have been drawn. Silence is complicity.

When Turnbull approached Labor, they rejected him. Paul Keating thought he would be destructive to the Party. Smart Keating. The Liberals on the other hand warmly welcomed him, and it is safe to say, it has destroyed them. Like trying to seek comfort in fire by hugging it, the Liberals embraced Turnbull. Howard even convinced him to stay when he thought of quitting, and it burns still. Malcolm Turnbull wants you to believe that the Liberals are too far to the right, and that is what has caused the rapid rise of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party. He wants you to think it is all the fault of Sky News - which is a very difficult claim to make. Especially when you consider the size of One Nation’s polling numbers in light of the current size of Sky News audience. If you believe that Sussan Ley is on the centre-right or even centrist, I might have a bridge to sell you. She is at best on the centre-left, and is being propped up by people who, like Turnbull, have no idea what people who oppose Labor really want. I think Turnbull, Ley and the rest appeal exclusively to the very affluent. Particularly those that need the government to prop-up their latest business venture. Their Teal purpose is confused by the Liberal brand. It hurts them. The Teals do a much better job of appealing to the private school educated public servant than anyone in a Liberal vest. Turnbull is a champagne socialist. Only too happy to dole out taxes to the masses with reckless abandon as cover for the big cheques and favour for the corporate grifters. Hardly any different to Labor on social or economic policy. He was always in the wrong party. His cohort in the Liberal Party are elitist absolutists. They don’t believe those to the right of them have a right to exist in the party, or to get representation in Australia - at all. This is evidenced in his silky-smooth statement on the ABC today. That might be ok if they were not ideologically aligned with the Labor Party and the Greens. People deserve choice. I think most Australians are now searching for an option that is not Turnbull influenced Ley and her Liberal Party, the Albanese Labor Party or the Greens. Most people grow increasingly fed up with a political establishment that have stopped representing their founding principles, and the things that people really care about. Which I can assure you is not how hard it is to “permit” the latest green energy waste of taxpayer money. Just listen to the priorities thinks will put Labor to the sword. More like a lesson in how to instruct your management consultants, or how to tame your lobbyist. Just nonsense. Out of touch nonsense. They have robbed the people frustrated with the status quo of a quality choice. It is in fact the left-wing Liberals that have caused the rise of One Nation. It is them, exclusively. What’s worse, Turnbull thinks the current Liberal Party is too far to the right, and that if they move further left, people will abandon One Nation and vote Liberal again. It is comedy gold, it really is. I don’t know how he held his composure. He couldn’t possibly believe what he was saying. He must have been holding back the laughter. I know I was. It would be even funnier if Albanese wasn’t in a position to completely destroy what is left of this country. The sooner Malcolm Turnbull takes his loyalists, sycophants and head nodders from the Liberal Party, and builds his own centrist (left-wing), climate grifting, immigration pumping, lobbyist led political party, the sooner the centre-right will heal, and restore hope to the Australian political landscape again. I say go Malcolm, take Sussan Ley, Alex Hawke, Julian Leeser, Maria Kovacic, Matt Kean, Nick Campbell and Michael Photios and the rest with you. Go be the Teal terror you were always destined to be. Prove to us that the Australian people want what you’re selling. But don’t denigrate the people that pay the taxes and that prop-up all the games you all play – please at least show them some respect. Respect those that clean your toilets, fix your plumbing and fence your farm. They deserve representation too. They’re hurting Malcolm, and Labor have abandoned them completely. I just want Australia back.

When the government is the economy, your financial suffering is their fault. Retail interest rates are predicted to skyrocket. Severe pain is incoming as the sluggish economy is about to get winded by a sucker punch. This is all driven by inflation that has almost nothing to do with discretionary spending – illustrated by the increasing din of roller shutters slamming shut for the last time on the high-street. Restaurants, cafes and bars - gone forever. They’re following the exit of long-established family businesses dropping like flies. Iconic clothing brands, manufacturing companies, and construction companies struggling to keep up with the increasing costs and declining consumer spending. Just a more amplified version of households busting to stay afloat, food, electricity, fuel, insurance and housing all running out of reach. People are hurting. The irony is that the only string holding up the false economy is the very thing causing the inflation that is destroying the real economy. Government spending. More specifically – government borrowing. Governments borrow printed money and spend it with the recklessness of a child buying gems to advance in a game on Mum’s iPhone. Using Mum’s credit card, without her knowing. Like the money isn’t real - and to them it isn’t. But it is to the rest of us who have to live in the real world, it really is. It’s just cruel. It’s one thing to borrow and invest in assets that provide returns, but using the credit card to buy skittles and beer normally comes with a hangover at some point. Welcome to the hangover. It’s as if Canberra has a giant black credit card with a tap and go facility. Mark Butler, the minister in charge of the NDIS has probably racked up the most loyalty points with the way he spends. Who knows what he will pick out of the post parliamentary reward points catalogue when he leaves. Next up would surely be Penny Wong, as she runs around the world tapping our credit card and showering other countries with the gifts we pay for, on borrowed money. Funding regimes like the Taliban… Don’t get me wrong, foreign aid has its place – and I think that is exclusively for our various island neighbours, and only when that is in this Nation’s interest. All the rest is just a waste of money, and a betrayal of the Australian people. Albanese and his team are just feckless and reckless, and Chalmers clearly thinks that spending borrowed money is the economy. It isn’t. Because when borrowed money is created, it is created without the interest (nobody ever prints the interest). But the interest always falls due. All our money supply is printed fiat currency. It’s not backed by anything. But if you are one dollar short on an interest bill – your assets can fall into the hands of the lender. Printed money buys real assets, and real assets are lost on foreclosure, as insiders often swoop in for cents in the dollar. It’s like a giant asset laundering scheme. More is always owed than was minted in the first place, because interest must be paid. So, there must be losers – that much is baked into the game - and as more people lose, more people collapse and even more assets are pooled in the hands of fewer people… and there’s the rub – eventually it all falls into the hands of the money printers and their mates. The system must have been designed by an insane clown. The only way out of this mess is to get rid of this government debt and return to sound money. All government debt just inflates assets – and the cost to hold them. Everything else is just a sideshow. They want us fighting over the gender of a toothpick that never ceded ownership of its tutu, so we don’t look at the rapid collapse of everything in real time. It is government debt and waste that is ruining Australia. Almost everything else is a distraction from the fact that there’s no more free money. I just want Australia back.
