For those asking “why couldn’t she go wherever she wanted” or “I let my dog do anything”…listen She is a Dutch Shephard. This is not a breed you “let do what they want”. She is a highly trained protection dog. Trained by the same folks that train military and police dogs. Without boundaries and rules this breed is so high energy and intelligent they would get into all manner of trouble. She has her run of the main level of the house because she needs to cover all entrances. She is not allowed upstairs because she does not need to be up there, and it would distract her. Owning a dog like this is a big commitment. I need to walk her for miles, throw the ball for her every day. She needs structure and a lot of outdoor time. If you let your dog do whatever they want, fine, but I bet you don’t own a breed like a Dutch Shephard.

She is not allowed in the library, but now that she is on her last days the old rules no longer apply. I told her to follow me and when I walked in she hesitated and it broke my heart.
