Devs think Kubernetes has control plane/data plane separation: if the API or controllers go down, Pods continue to run. In practice, it’s the same failure mode if you host time-sensitive stream processing/batch jobs, or rely on autoscalers controllers to keep the site up.

As @LinkedInEng, we finally submitted a few @KubeCon_ talks about how Kubernetes helped us build an on-prem stack designed for stateful apps as a first-class citizen and bare-metal machine lifecycle (OS updates, health remediation, decommission etc) in mind. I'm excited! 🥳
