Enzo knows he can earn £250–300k a week elsewhere and compete for the biggest honours. Chelsea have boxed themselves in with self imposed salary caps and a rigid model that simply doesn’t work at the elite level. Top players will always have options. They’ll look at the money, the ambition, the environment and then look at Chelsea. The shit show. Managed my LinkedIn Liam. And this won’t just be Enzo. It’ll be Palmer, Caicedo, Cucurella, Estaveo. Anyone with real quality will be constantly tempted away. The club won’t adapt. They’ll hide behind the model and brief that it’s on the player to try and control the narrative. That’s where we are. A disgrace.

🚨 I can reveal that Enzo and Chelsea have been talking for some months over new contract details, but there has been no agreement or solution found yet. This means that if this continues, and no agreement can be found on new terms, Enzo would be open to exploring leaving Chelsea. These comments from Enzo all started due to no agreement yet behind the scenes over new fresh salary terms. Chelsea are in control over the situation and will not give any discount on price. @Arningbo @JohyanCruyff There's a distinct lack of top sixes right now, that's the issue. He's not world class, but he's a solid player that has attributes that we need, that can do the job right now whilst we scan the market for potential upgrades in the future.

@Arningbo @JohyanCruyff Don't really care tbh, as long as he's not awful on it. Reece, Colwill and Caicedo (Enzo too if he stays) are the build up specialists. The main thing is he's a 6 with physicality that will sit and screen behind Caicedo, + he has leadership qualities.

He’s one of the best pressing and hardest working players in Europe. - Ranks in the top 10 Ligue 1 players for pressing duels - 6th for possessions won in the final third (1.20 per 90) - Won 70% of his 6.47 defensive duels per 99 this season On top of that he has 10 G/As (0.50 goal contributions per 90). He’s versatile, only 19-years-old. Has the potential to become a really special player.

Did some analysis today on the SD's signings since they have been in charge. They have made 30 signing's i would put 7 down as successful who play for us now, 3 others who have arent here yet but look good and a 5 who we have sold for profit. Pretty damning!! #cfc #chelsea

Reece James loves Chelsea TOO MUCH btw… He definitely had people telling him not to sign, but he doesn’t want to give up on Chelsea and the fans. It’s sad really. We have to shape up for him.

The Enzo Fernandez situation is polarizing, because I’m a big fan of Enzo and believe he’s actually fairly underrated ~ that being said, I can see where people come from who think we could sell and acquire somebody who can balance the rest of the squad better (someone to help platform others) HOWEVER, my biggest issue with any sale would be what it represents more than anything, somebody who actually cares LEAVING, one of the only true winners and leaders LEAVING ~ when there’s as little hope around the club as there currently is, we need the players who care to provide that hope, Reece signing his new deal did that (short lived, but it did)

Some won’t mind this, getting back a significant fee and moving onto a more physical profile in midfield (this isn’t my opinion btw) But the bigger worry for me would be having one of the only true winners and leaders wanting to leave… Not only a bad thing for the squad, but a bad enditement of his faith in the direction we’re going

Enzo Fernandez will be questioning his life choices in the changing room, on the drive home and whilst he's laying in bed tonight. I don't think he WANTS to leave, but the club isn't matching his ambition, and he's now 25 years old and almost halfway through a short career.
