@tszzl The cost of running the best model with 2-3 sessions for an “individual” user should go down to zero. The main source of income should become corps generating +1T a day. Requires another 100x drop in price.
the “per seat” software sales model makes no sense in the agentic era where some people will effectively spend 10, 100, 1000x more tokens than others, and the inequalities will intensify as the technology gets better
GPT 5.4 is now available in Cursor!
We've found it to be more natural and assertive than previous models. It's currently the leader on our internal benchmarks.
@synthwavedd I have no idea what they're doing. It's going to confuse the hell out of everyone. 5.3 Thinking and Pro are also coming (so what is 5.4!!)
I had been hearing some indications they were gonna skip GPT-5.3 but I was skeptical they were gonna actually do it
Apparently it's too big of an improvement for a meager .1 jump. Impressive how committed OpenAI is to the most confusing naming scheme of all time
@andrew_n_carr I think the models are kind of useless for daily use unless they work on fixing their refusal rates. 6/10 normal requests are rejected by the models.
Interesting that Qwen decided to go back to hybrid models for the Qwen 3.5 series. Especially since the Qwen3-2507 update split the hybrid models into Thinking and Instruct versions
71% of Waterloo software engineering grads leave for the US. The brain drain damage threshold is 20%. Canada is at 3x the red line.
Think about that. Canada taxes its people at 60% in part to fund a university system to train its best and brightest to flee the country and make the US GDP spike.
Who is spiking US GDP at the moment? All the Canadians working for Anthropic and OpenAI in AI.
How crazy is that?
What do the Canadian tax payers get for their generosity out of this?
@davidtranjs Enterprise is different, depends on the specifics of your account/deal (e.g. some folks are still on older pricing when they purchased an annual contract)
We have a new usage pool inside Cursor!
If you're using Composer 1.5 for example, you now have significantly more usage included.
Other models (e.g. Opus/Codex) continue with the same usage today based on your plan.
