@theficouple Depends how old you are and how good you are with money. Eg.. in ten years you’d have $720k but if I buy a million $ home.. in ten years it will be worth 2 million or more.. in twenty years I’ll be further ahead again and inflation will make your $6k a month worth 4 or less

If someone offered you $1 million of cash or $6,000/mo for life? Take the $6,000/mo for life every time. Absolute no brainer.

@rushicrypto I think you’re confusing property tax with rates. Everyone pays rates which covers services, parks etc.. a property tax is a tax on top of rates for simply because you have a property. This makes housing more expensive for owners and renters

I’m very confused about the number of people who think “property tax” is a sales tax on you home rather than taxes to pay for public services you use every day. “I paid off my home why do i still pay property taxes?!?!?” Oh, did you also stop using the roads and libraries and sidewalks and parks? Not worried about fires anymore?

@pooliecoast Yip there were times when I felt they were simply playing to a structure rather than playing what was in front of them. Not going wide when we had overlaps and aimlessly kicking away possession when we needed to hold onto the ball. Accurate Kicks for position were rare.

@Aussiephil2 And to answer second question.. I’m not sure they totally brought into style of play, hence at critical times couldn’t lead the strategy. Coaches problem.

Great episode lads. Jordie captain for me. Ardie is a no. Rens won’t fall for the bad optics of the big review and Kobe. However… I’m picking Ryan will have a big day on who can mould this team together the best. And team input will be sought. That might be Codie.

@linley_court Probably because they lied 🙄 There is this thing called Nuremberg code that has 10 or so key points to never do on a population and they pretty much did everything from that list on the population of NZ. but I mean why care about that huh

Is there any other country in the world that’s beating up the government who led them through COVID like NZ is right now. Countries who lost thousands of people, who were locked down for much longer? Why is it happening here.

I love my EV. Instant torque, quiet ride, 99% charging over night at home. On the west coast there are fast chargers everywhere. Plus hotels offer free overnight charging. In China new EVs entry price $12,000. In the EU low price EV $15,000 are common. The latest BMW i3 is way better than past models. EVs more for less is continuous. Check Ford new Truck planned for 2027. The $29k Chevy bold is a great buy.

Petrol was never going to fade gently—it was always headed for a structural death spiral. A system built on extraction, transport, chokepoints and constant resupply was always going to collide with one built on physics, abundance and one-time installation. You can slice the data any way you like—geopolitics, supply chains, military strategy—it all points the same way. This was never “if.” It was always “when.” And it increasingly looks like that inflection point is now. What people underestimate isn’t the technology—it’s the system dynamics. Sales are a flow. Fleet is a stock. Once the EV fleet reaches critical mass, the system itself starts doing the work. Oil demand doesn’t decline neatly—it breaks. Infrastructure unravels. Margins compress. Volatility rises. And that volatility accelerates the very transition that’s replacing it. The pushback we’re seeing now is textbook disruption. Incumbents clinging to a model the world no longer needs. Complacency from those who think nothing really changes. And a strange hostility toward EVs, solar and batteries—not because they don’t work, but because they do, and they threaten the old order. Oil runs on geopolitics. EVs run on physics. One depends on fragile global systems that panic under pressure. The other scales quietly, relentlessly, everywhere at once. This isn’t a transition in the traditional sense. It’s a system replacement. And once you see it through that lens, everything happening right now starts to make perfect sense. ⚡🔋 #Bettrification

@WilliamB1960 @RusselNorman @linley_court Unused permits were still allowed to be used. But they weren't. So for those O&G exploration companies there was no real ban yet they still were not interested in looking.

The NZ Govt just spent the last two years introducing policies to make NZ more dependent on fossil fuels, and proudly overturning policies that were reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. Now they have some Mickey Mouse national fuel plan. What a joke.

For once, this bloke is correct. Do not cut fuel excise. Do not make public transport free. Let price signalling do its work, particularly for those idiots who bought vehicles that are far bigger and thirstier than what they actually need. smh.com.au/politics/feder…

@JohnDavidEde @taipan168 Gee your being a bit tough. Mind you a 130hp pulling a car that just over 1000kg is a pretty good power to weight.. top speed of 131mph and 0-100 in 8.5 secs is pretty damn good for 1964. Definitely not a hairdresser car for its day.

Anybody who thinks a Mazda MX-5 is a "hairdresser's car" has no idea about cars. Four generations since 1989, a heritage approaching that of the Porsche 911, the top selling sportscar of all time and a car that basically every motoring journalist likes.

@secondzeit @MrBobDobalinaNZ He got off without conviction. The police stood by and did nothing.. they literally watched as hundreds of people moved barriers and took over the event through assault and intimidation. All because women want to be safe in their own spaces.

The Gracchi brothers did nothing wrong
@Aussiephil2 @taipan168 “two-three years of lockdowns” The world didn’t lock down for two to three years, it came to a halt only really in the first year. That’s when demand was destroyed around the world and there was a price slump, because oil prices rely on the global market.
