@MotoClark @andyps1275 It halted Emira production but you're right, possibly not the main reason. The Eletre and Emaya haven't sold anywhere near the numbers predicted and customer reviews of the dealer network and aftercare isn't positive. A major reset now to recoup Geely's £2bn investment.

@andyps1275 @MotoClark This decision has mainly come about due to US tarrifs. Some Lotus production is rumoured to be heading to Volvo’s plant in South Carolina. The US will end up the last bastion of ICE vehicles, so a great market for a V8 Emira…

@MotoClark And it is hard to conceive that the fall isn't associated with the general market conditions for electric cars. It would be a really sad day if Lotus were to stop making cars in the UK, and stop making Lotus type cars.

@adrianfclarke Agreed, especially at such an insane price Tbf I like the taillights, but it desperately needs some Hella RetroBrights up front. Also I love the wheels The interior sucks big time imo. At least do SOMETHING to echo the original’s central layout (and lose that head unit)

From the photos there are a number of fit and finish issues I wouldn’t let out of the studio. At least it starts at only £75k.

I’ve avoided putting £250 down and £55 per month for one of these. Mainly because I don’t live in the city and 46 mile range and 27mph top speed are therefore useless to me. Still, cheap motoring though!
