@Ava_dearest That's not the point. The point is that they made Benedict bisexual for the sole purpose of fitting him into Francesca's storyline, and therefore, since Jess took over as showrunner, the entire Bridgerton plot since season 3 has revolved around Francesca.

When they took away all of Benedict's artistic development after season 2 to force him to explore his sexuality and realize he was bisexual, I honestly didn't understand, narratively speaking, why they did that. The shift was too abrupt, especially since his art was very important to Benedict; it was part of his identity. So, when I saw him in season 3, calm and collected, as if the artist within him and the conflict with Anthony had never happened, I was shocked. I couldn't understand why, suddenly, it seemed like they'd given me a completely different Benedict. But now, after getting to this point, I understand why they did it: It was because of Francesca. In the book When He Was Wicked, Colin plays a an important role, influencing Michael to accept his feelings for Francesca and marry her. However, in the series, since Francesca is paired with a woman, they needed someone who could understand what it means to love someone of the same gender, and that's Benedict. That's why they made him bisexual, it's that simple. So what does this ultimately tell us? That since Jess took over as showrunner, everything has revolved around Francesca from the very beginning. Am I surprised? No 😒

@fromtheashess He's the one that made Edwina A LOT more prominent in S2 that she needed to be. The man is never fair and balanced.

I don't know why people think Tom V would be any better at show running then Jess. He's a part of the mess this show has become too.

Some people really saw a female character who was like one foundation shade lighter than the leading lady, a few inches shorter, and wore pink, and made up delusional head canons about her being the REAL lead Some of those people were in the production and marketing of s2, sadly
