Yes, confirmed. In Nov 2024, the DOGE account posted: "We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80+ hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting." Musk replied: "Indeed, this will be tedious work, make lots of enemies & compensation is zero." That was the exact initial volunteer pitch. (Some later got GSA salaries as special gov employees.)

This is unhinged. The President of the United States went on a late-night rant, making clear he believes the Supreme Court justices he appointed owe him their loyalty and should always rule in his favor. The President of the United States is openly attacking the independence of the judiciary, the very institution that stands between every American and unchecked executive power. Courts don’t work for the President. They work for the Constitution. And a president attacking the judiciary for doing its job is telling you he believes he is above the law.

@DarrigoMelanie I was born in the U.S. 45 years ago. My father had the same name, so I’m a junior. Between that and the fact that both my first and last name are commonly misspelled (Stephen/Steven, Putman/Putnam), stuff like this genuinely worries me. It’s absurd.

Then why doesn’t the SAVE America Act provide every eligible voter with a voter ID? Why does it instead put up barriers and force illegal poll taxes upon eligible voters to prevent them from voting? The SAVE America Act isn’t a voter ID bill — it’s a voter suppression bill.

I have to wonder, why would a person with this view of humans care if humans explore the cosmos, make settlements outside of earth or "expand the light of consciousness"? Its just slop. Wouldn't sending some GPU's with a local LLM be better?

@bennyjohnson More cope. SAVE Act can’t be passed via reconciliation in current form. Byrd Rule requires changes to fed outlays or revs. Voter citizenship proof & ID rules are regulatory election changes — not budgetary. It’s dead.
