@BlakeSNeff — what’s actually most telling here isn’t the attempted insults, it’s the complete refusal to do the one thing that would settle this instantly: release the video. Instead, we get a long, emotional rant filled with deflection and theatrics. That’s not how someone behaves when the facts are clearly on their side. If the video says what you claim it says, then there’s no reason to keep it hidden. None. You don’t get to dismiss legitimate questions by smearing people and hoping the noise replaces the evidence. What you are failing to understand is that you are existing in a MINORITY of people, Blake. The vast majority of the general public has questions and they deserve answers. Stop living in an echo chamber. At the end of the day, this is simple: either the video backs up your claim, or it doesn’t. And the longer you avoid releasing it, the more obvious the answer becomes.

I think Tyler told his parents he was caught up in something really bad and they, being typical Republican middle class White folks, trusted the cops and figured the best thing to do would be to talk to them and tell them what happened. My guess is that whatever happened as soon as Tyler walked into that station shattered that idea- which is why he refused all cooperation from the start. It’s also probably why the video of him turning himself in disappeared. Reminder, the whole “Tyler confessed to his parents” line is bullshit. The original probable cause (PC) statement says that a family friend told police that a family member told him that Tyler had “implied” he had committed the crime. The official PC filing cleaned that wording up a bit and says that mom “stated the following to police” but it’s then her relaying the conversation between Tyler and his dad. It might sound like I’m being nitpicky here but there’s a carefully crafted vagueness in this supposed bombshell piece of evidence that is all by design. To my knowledge the parents have not given any other official statements to police and I won’t be surprised to learn that the conversation outlined in that official PC filing was really just the same game of telephone described in the original PC/booking document.

Up until recently I would have trusted the system too, as ridiculous as that now sounds. It’s just weird because they knew this would all come out, of course they would testify, so why would they lie so blatantly? Being nitpicky is vital because they need to prove beyond any reasonable doubt and an entire jury needs to feel that way. Is this all just an effort to taint the jury pool? Remember frank turek holding that religious “debriefing” right after for the witnesses where he was trying to influence what they saw/heard that day, even argued with them? Ugh it’s all so gross.
