@jonathan_steed Well, I'm quite looking forward to asking for 160 fluid drachms of beer next time I'm in a UK pub!

What utter nonsense this suggestion of moving back to the illogical imperial system out of some kind if nostalgia and the laziness of older people not wanting to use metric.
Kate Wilton@KateWilton1

Rees Mogg wants us to return to the dark ages and go back to an archaic system of imperial units. Here’s a consultation that’s very quietly been slipped in. Note there is no choice for metric only. Please take part. beisgovuk.citizenspace.com/opss/measureme…

@KLM when you overbook a flight and then give someone a seat at the last minute please don't lie to them and say their luggage will follow shortly. Just tell them to forget about their luggage. I would not have taken that seat had I known the truth. I received no reply to my DM!

@MarcosDGarca1 We have been using Rebek's 55% rule for ages to estimate potential guest occupancy. However, it was devised for discrete capsules in solution rather than extended space, so we thought it would be nice to revisit the concept using the wealth of data in the CSD, and specific guests

Our survey of the CSD is finally online. It shows that you can expect small guest molecules to occupy approximately 50% of the space made available to them by the host

@jonathan_steed Great view! Not so sure about that particular beer, though ... unless it's very hot over there.

@jonathan_steed Giving a non-template reason shows the authors that it's not an arbitrary decision made on a whim. Even if the authors don't necessarily agree with the reasons, they can still find the feedback useful. It also shows that someone actually read the manuscript.

Difficult question for the community. When I took over at Crystal Growth & Design I promised you I would not reject a manuscript without owning the reason. I have to reject many papers that are important to you. I am trying to say why properly. It’s the hardest thing I do 1/2

Our paper has just been accepted as a communication by JACS. Well done Marike and Varia! Record-setting selectivity for p-xylene by an intrinsically porous 0D metallocycle pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Our first paper on determining enthalpies of sorption by means of pressure-gradient DSC is now published. This one deals with Type I isotherms. The more interesting one on stepped isotherms will follow soon. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.100…
