Cap management is not just about the current year but also planning for future years. Within the next 12 months, Darnell Wright will be a top 2 paid tackle and Caleb will be the top paid QB. In order to do that, you can’t go out a foolishly spend cap dollars on players that don’t have a long term future. Fans think about today.poles job is to think about this year and the next 3 years. It means being careful with who gets paid and has nothing to do with cash available. The lost part in this conversation continues to be the contract. DJ Moore is a good player, I've never said otherwise, but when he makes $28 million per year and you have 2 young ascending receivers on the team ready for bigger roles, trading him to clear up $16.5 million to help build on defense has to be under consideration. I'm open to DJ being back, but he cannot play on a $28 million cap hit under any circumstances.
