Hausa architecture in northern Nigeria 🇳🇬 : Thick walls of sun-dried earth (Tubali) slow heat transfer, small openings which reduce glare, dust, and hot winds. while compact and defensive from the outside, inside they're unexpectedly cathedral-like - high vaulted ceilings and arches achieved without the use of timber, to create cooler microclimates. This sophisticated intelligence was almost lost through colonialism imported concrete and rigid ideas of progress, dismissing hausa architecture as primitive and devaluing indigenous crafts.

At this point, it’s obvious: there is no real etiquette in war, no regard for human life, no concern for the suffering of the common person. Once a side is labeled the enemy, anything done to them is excused, and supporters will cheer regardless of justice.

@Ony1nyechi Syncretism is an issue though, I’m not sure if Islamic societies have that issue. The question most have is what aspects of their culture to retain and what to discard. Mythology, Cultural festivals dedicated to idols, rituals and practices lol

Every time you read the book of Galatians, I want you to remember that Paul wrote everything there as a letter to Christians in Galatia, then a region in a country we now call Turkey 🇹🇷 ”I am afraid about you. I worked very much to help you. I do not want my work to have no results.“ Galatians 4:11 EASY His fears is exactly what we are seeing today, who would have thought there were ancient Christians in Turkey? This building historically belongs to Christians, today it has been converted to a mosque. We are witnessing the evidence of Islam expansionist and conquering mindset. What those Imams are preaching is exactly what has been happening for centuries.

The most potent antidote to insecurity in Nigeria today still remains good governance at the sub-National level.

Earlier today, I handed over my daughter’s hand in marriage; an orphan whom I inherited from my late mother, and more than the number of years or the experiences gained over time, it reminded me that boys are no longer boys. Truly, one of the proudest moments of my life.

Two moments, 45 years apart, 1981 and 2026. The only state visits by civilian Nigerian Presidents to the United Kingdom. A contrast between past and future.

Social expectations don’t just shape behavior, they shape expression. People often withhold what is true, not because it is offensive, but because it doesn’t fit the accepted frame. Occasionally, it’s necessary to resist that. I can’t.
