Not wanting your kid in school with a boy with laser eyes is kinda fair, whereas not wanting them in school with a queer kid isn’t even a little.

They suck as an allegory for pretty much anything. Race? Sexuality? Disabilities? If people relate to their struggles, that's fine. Just leave them out of actual serious discussions on those topics because they don't really work once you start to look closely.

I believe the world will one day heal and stop calling Wolverine’s son a slur and refer to him as Akihiro, Fang, or Hellverine. And when they stop calling his daughter X-23 and refer to her as Laura or Wolverine
