Alhamdulilah, the turnout at the Muslim Bitcoin Summit was incredible! It was truly heartening to connect with fellow Muslims who are deeply passionate about this mission. The energy in the room, the sincerity of the discussions, and the shared vision for a future free from the riba monetary system were nothing short of inspiring. JazakAllahukhairn to everyone who made it possible and everyone who attended. We will be working on getting the videos uploaded soon InshaAllah. This wasn’t just a conference, it felt like the beginning of a powerful movement! May Allah continue to bless this movement and unite us in truth and justice!

$280 million just vanished from Drift Protocol on Solana because someone was tricked into signing the wrong transaction. The attacker didn't find a bug in the code. They socially engineered a team member into pre-signing admin transactions using durable nonces, a Solana feature that lets signed transactions sit dormant for weeks before executing. The victim may not have even realized what they signed. There was no immediate on-chain footprint to trigger an alert. The signatures just waited until the attacker was ready. When they executed, it took minutes. 2 out of 5 multisig approvals was all they needed to take over Drift's Security Council, remove withdrawal limits, and drain over half the protocol's $550 million in TVL. $230 million in USDC was bridged to Ethereum through Circle's CCTP across 100+ transactions before anyone froze anything. Bitcoin doesn't have admin keys. It doesn't have a Security Council multisig. It doesn't have team members who can be socially engineered into draining the protocol. That's the difference.

Wild that a country who built an identity around being victims of the Holocaust is now modern day Nazis, supporting genocide and mass murder. Israel has become completely dominated by evil. This week they became the second country in history to pass a law allowing executions based on ethnicity. The first was Nazi Germany. When the law was passed the Knesset member who announced it had tears of joy and Defense Minister Ben Gvir popped champagne for a toast as people cheered then he proudly showed off his new gallows and a noose for the camera. It’s all on video. All easy to see. Such blatant depravity and evil. If you are not in a bubble of highly censored and curated news it’s easy for you to see hundreds and hundreds of videos of blatant war crimes. Worst of all for Americans is that we are supporting and enabling this evil behavior not just with our hard earned wages but now with the lives of troops. Israel is an enemy to the United States and one of the most evil, harmful forces on earth toward global peace. We must put things back in to balance.

This is a good example of the kind of Sufi romanticism that does not belong in Digital Hijra. If the critique of modernity boils down to plastics being too far removed from the natural world, then it stands to reason that the critique itself collapses the moment it touches the modern conditions (computer, phones, laptops, servers, petrochemical infrastructure, etc) under which it is being made. I invite @khateeb88 and other Muslims of Sufi orientation to read our essay about Digital Hijra: x.com/i/status/20372… The problem with modern technology is not that it is synthetic or far removed from raw materials, it's that it is usually built inside systems of riba, surveillance, dependency, and enclosure. Digital Hijra is a call to rebuild technological life in a vicegerent way, on sovereignty, ownership, moral discipline, and accountable infrastructure. This is where Wahdat al-Wujud should lead us to as we navigate hypermodernity.
