@bonchieredstate It seems more like a game to Trump. Iran is not some contractor you don't want to pay.

When Trump doesn't nuke Iran tonight, all the people screaming he's about to commit genocide will seamlessly shift to posting "Taco Tuesday" memes and claiming he chickened out. It's all a game to these people.

@tspooky Argentina, El Salvador to start. No one in it that is not about cleaning up their mess in their own countries. Especially Canada can bugger off.

@GlennThrush I think much of the criticism is the fact that they cut back to bare bones. In the old days, they had enough staff to catch that.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐘𝐎𝐑𝐊 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒𝐍’𝐓 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 The 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘠𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 International edition — Friday, April 3, 2026 — ran a front-page headline that read: “𝘈 𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘺 𝘖𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢?” NATO stands for 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Not “North American.” This isn’t a typo. It’s the wrong word in the name of the most important military alliance in the Western world, printed on the front page of what claims to be America’s paper of record. Trump caught it immediately and posted on Truth Social: “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘵𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘺 𝘖𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 — 𝘈 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦! 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘠𝘛.” He added: “𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 ’𝘈𝘓𝘓 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘕𝘌𝘞𝘚 𝘛𝘏𝘈𝘛’𝘚 𝘍𝘐𝘛 𝘛𝘖 𝘗𝘙𝘐𝘕𝘛’ 𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯!” This is the publication that lectures the rest of America about misinformation. The publication that employs teams of fact-checkers. The publication that once ran a front-page correction policy as a point of institutional pride. And they couldn’t get the name of NATO right on the front page during the biggest NATO crisis in a generation. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭.

There are mistakes, and then there are mistakes that reveal everything. The @nytimes had to correct a print headline that called NATO the North American Treaty Organization, not the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This was not a random typo. It was a kind of Freudian slip that distilled the article's hyper-American framing of an alliance that's supposed to span the ocean. Veteran reporter, prestige paper, basic fact wrong. This is bigger than sloppy copyediting. It is what institutional erosion looks like: cut newsrooms, thinner editing, speed over precision. The real scandal? If they can't get NATO's own name right in print, what else is slipping through? My full analysis, paywall-free: justthefacts.media/p/the-nyts-nat… What do you think — is this an isolated blunder or a symptom of deeper legacy decline?

How did this New York Times headline make it past review yesterday? 👀 They printed NATO as the “North American Treaty Organization”… and said they would correct it the next day. Mistakes happen — I get that. But this isn’t some small outlet… and this isn’t a complicated topic. What else makes it through review that we don’t notice? Curious what you think 👇

All is fair in war. Terrorists, including Shiite terrorists, are attracted to killing civilians. During WWII we bombed the heck out of the German civilians, the Japanese, and the Italian civilians. Today, we have more of a choice but might be guided by the actions of our bloodthirsty enemies. Regardless, no civilian is completely innocent during a war unless he is unemployed. All the rest bolster the economy, which helps produce weapons and other supplies for the troops. Many so-called "civilians" are engaged in weapons research, directly engaged in weapons production, or producing precursor materials like potassium nitrate, charcoal, sulfur, lead, and antimony (some of the ingredients for bullets). Some civilians build factories. Having said that, I think it would be a terrible mistake to smash the power grid and any water supply systems, which would certainly kill many people and turn the civilians against us. We need those civilians for the civil war that may actually overthrow the clerics.

The President's threat against Iran is genocidal, even by the strictest definition. It may be bluster, but that does not change our obligation. To work, a threat must be credible, and we must act accordingly. We attacked Iran. Any order to escalate our attack with nuclear weapons would clearly be immoral, and must therefore be rejected by every person in the chain of command. Anyone who carried such an order forward would become immediately complicit. That is the lesson of history, and those who fail it will be judged harshly by it--and by God. We can't have a Commander in Chief who threatens civilians, idly or in earnest. The President must be removed from office, for the good of the Republic, and the world.

Imagine trusting The New York Times for international news, only to find out they don’t even know what NATO stands for. No wonder their reporting on Israel is often skewed. 🇮🇱

@CalgaryDave Oh screw off. As if the US or other countries don't have regions that vote differently than the end result. Canada will have a Conservative govt again at some point. There is no rational reason to destroy a country of 40M with separation because. Stop whining.

If you know NOTHING ELSE about Canadian Politics, know that this alone is why Alberta needs out. 34 out of 37 opted to go blue in the federal election. By all rights, a mega supermajority. 0% of them have any say, federally- and if they do, the needs of Quebec and Ontario come first. There is no fair deal we can make with the present framework- where 92% of the will of the province is consistently ignored, while people at the opposite end continue oppressive lawmaking, regulation, culture, and views towards Alberta.

@FoxNews He's not threatening the Iranian people, he's threatening the regime. 47 years of extortion and terror and he's giving them one last off ramp. The mullahs are the civilization dying tonight, not the people they've been oppressing.
