@goldie2k4 @_racemymind @kittysoqueen Exactly, if they were so worried about artistic expression they wouldn't be using lyrics to put rappers in jail.
English

@_racemymind @kittysoqueen It’s the only reason they’re so angered by the lawsuit. All that protection of artistic expression is a facade.

@themandudus @ATP_RAP @insiderhubx He can’t step on it. Keem has his own credentials, Drake would be wise not to drop then but who knows, he’s made unwise choices in the past.
I won’t be surprised if something from his camp happens that day but it won’t have negative impact on Keem or the music ☺️

@Earmerican 'Not Like Us' isn't a song; it's a cultural foreclosure. 50 Cent just took Ja’s money, but Kendrick took this man’s soul, weaponized his own city against him, and made the globe c-walk on his grave. When Ja Rule pities you, the autopsy is already over. 📉🦉

A lot of Anti-woke/Anti-DEI preachers crying too loud. Even if he kills it they'll cry about it.

I went out to bat HARD for John Davidson after he shouted the N word at black actors and producers at the BAFTAs; against many in my own community. Davidson apologised, and his use of a racist slur was explained by his disability and I extended grace and forgiveness.
So here is the uncomfortable question. Kanye West has bipolar disorder. He has said his antisemitic outbursts are linked to it. He has apologised, more than once. Yet the reaction is entirely different.
Let me be clear. West’s antisemitism is vile. It is not edgy, it is not excusable, and it causes real harm. In the same way, a white person using the N word does. Both should be condemned without hesitation.
But condemnation is not the same as consistency. If we are prepared to treat disability as a mitigating factor in one case, we cannot simply ignore it in another because the individual is more controversial or the offence feels less convenient to forgive. Either disability meaningfully shapes responsibility, or it does not. Either apologies carry weight, or they do not.
If we only extend grace selectively, it stops being a principle and starts looking like preference.

Universal Music Group responds to Drake's appeal and claims the rapper used the label to attack Kendrick Lamar and now wants a new standard.
On March 27, Universal Music Group filed a response to Drake's appeal of his dismissed defamation lawsuit regarding Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us."
"Although Drake had used UMG’s platform to attack Lamar in equally incendiary terms, he now claims UMG defamed him by releasing the recording, that the track violates N.Y. Penal Law, and that UMG’s promotion of it violated N.Y. General Business Law (GBL)," the filing reads.
"[Drake] seeks to strip words from their context and deem them actionable defamation if anyone, anywhere, might treat them as factual," it continues. "That is not the law, and Drake’s view would critically undermine a highly creative art form built on exaggeration, insult, and wordplay. Drake’s Penal Law and GBL arguments fare no better. This Court should affirm the dismissal."
Drake's original lawsuit against UMG for distributing "Not Like Us," which labels Drizzy a child predator, was dismissed last October. However, Drake continued the fight and appealed the ruling in January.
XXL has reached out to UMG and Drake's attorney for comment.

@_AngelaOVO @_diana_salam @CityLights_RAW Then he picks Bad Bunny this year to try and act like that's what they do now 🙄
English

@_diana_salam @CityLights_RAW Mind you, Rihanna did not have a monster year for him to pick her. Usher did not have a monster year as well, he’s making excuses like we’re dumb he just wanted to humiliate Drake then fake apologize/play dumb 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
English

they’re trying to find a nice way to say jay z a hypocrite and the industry took it too far, not the fans

🚨Rory & MaL says JAY-Z (JAŸ-Z) Responsible for the Role he Played in the Kendrick & Drake BEEF‼️😱 Shocked at the Response 🗂️
English

@TrustMyEars @Whats_the_dirt @spinboutU_ If it stopped at people you'd have a point. The fact that news/media sources got involved and random companies like duolingo among others, is where it got fishy.
English

Is it orchestrated though? Or is it a bunch of people that’s not fond of him happening to kick his back in and hate on him at the same time by coincidence? That’s what I’ve always wondered. Kanye’s quote when he got with Future & Metro sticks with me. "Everybody is very, very excited about the elimination of Drake. Not excited; we were energized." Was that just between them or was it bigger than that?
