@Patrick0x934 @stanlee0nX IMO: The tool is as powerful as the wielder. Someone using php can write a better and faster application than someone using rust/Java/c# with a feeble knowledge of it

@BolooEmmanuel @stanlee0nX We never said it's a bad tool but it's not the way languages like Java and C# are structured, which are far more better than it.

why do senior backend devs look down on Node.js/Express backend devs?”

@Patrick0x934 @stanlee0nX Python is actually the most fancy c++ wrapper I know 😂 Node JS use libc(c++\c) for handling I/O, Async tasks. That’s enough to make it fast for those tasks This doesn’t make NodeJS a bad tool for backend development

@stanlee0nX It doesn't utilize type safety, JavaScript is a language prone to errors. Also OOP is the core of real backend system. It enables modularization and better code management. Also node js isn't a programming language but a c++ wrapper.

Senior Developers When you see a junior making a mistake you already made do you stop them immediately or let them feel it first?

@VencedorZest @yehhmisi YES! Node.js is a great tool to learn backend. If you grind it long enough then you can replicate the knowledge in other languages

Funny how as a software engineer you just need to know 2-3 languages broadly. 1 primary language, 1-2 secondary languages and SQL(compulsorily) And you’re mostly always qualified for any SWE role.

I'm now giving away some FREE spots for my 8-hour Linux course that also includes over 8 hours of bonus material. It's the same stuff my paid students get. Comment "linux" and I'll send you an invite! (Must be following or it wont work)

Programming is understanding. If you don't understand what you are doing, you are not programming. You are generating text.

With vibe coding, you accidentally learn: - how microservices communicate. - why CORS exists. - what DNS resolution actually does. - how JWT tokens work. - rate limiting and scaling. - what happens during containerization. - how database transactions prevent corruption. - what happens behind npm install. - how distributed systems fail.

Couldn't find a clean way to download YouTube videos to my new laptop. No good tools, no reliable sites. So I built one. Snag. paste any link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, or 1000+ sites. Get your video. No watermarks. Best quality. It's a CLI tool right now, web app and desktop app coming next. Open source: github.com/Verifieddanny/… Install: brew install Verifieddanny/tap/snag
