@pitboxer_crafts@BungleMan13@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 The only ones I have ever seen win fighting it on the road side are known auditors. They still lose the battle more often then not and end up fighting it in court. Officers know even if they are in the wrong and the charges get dropped the real punishment is the process its self.
@Boreddontpanic@BungleMan13@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 I have seen too many cases on this very sort of thing. The truth does not always win the day in court. Contrary to "don't fight it on the road side" mantra, the first line of defense is on the road side.
Still, be polite (manners matter on camera), don't get physical.
Even without a single “no skating” sign in sight and despite the fact that she wasn’t even wearing skates, violent cops harassed her, slammed her to the ground, and arrested her. This is how police earn the hate.
@Boreddontpanic@pitboxer_crafts@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 So basically, if a cop violates state penal code(s) and the citizen knows and quotes them, then it is ok for the police to do this and the rest of us are just fuct! I don’t think so. Stand up for your rights, don’t roll over and beg
@pitboxer_crafts@BungleMan13@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 That is a broad assumption. Judges don't ignore video evidence and just go along with officer. That is one of the great things about body cameras and everyone having a camera on their phone. It would be up to the prosecutor anyways to proceed with any charges.
@Boreddontpanic@BungleMan13@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 If she could have talked the officer out of it, that's fine. Sadly, judges just go along with the officer and ignore the law too often.
But once they went hands-on, full compliance is necessary to keep the cops from going full tyrant and offing you.
@BungleMan13@pitboxer_crafts@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 Again argue it in court. The fact I haven't seen any additional information on this incident kind of tells me none of her charges got dropped. This is the type of incident every auditor loves to talk about if the officers were in the wrong. I have yet to see anything like that.
@Boreddontpanic@pitboxer_crafts@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 Wrong! Look up Texas Penal code 38.2 and that will show the only 3 instances ID is required (2 req, 1 partial)
1- Driving car & pulled over, ID req. does not apply to passenger
2- already arrested legally
3- if detained, cannot give fake ID, but can refuse req
Learn it
@ACABImmunity@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 Part of the reason I keep saying "fight it in court." It is pointless to argue with the law enforcement officers you aren't going to win that battle. You should invoke your rights and comply only under duress. You should never talk to police that was one of her mistakes.
@Boreddontpanic@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 I’d like to see a GRS survey showing what the actual grounds are. Also would like to see how a code like that is even enforceable on a public sidewalk.
Point being, any codes passed restricting activities in public spaces are likely unconstitutional. I hope she sues.
@ACABImmunity@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 Justify Texas State Troopers being at the Texas State Capital? What are you even talking about? It is their duty to guard that place while enforcing the laws including that code. The Troopers would have already been their genius.
Why are you so slow are you on drugs?
@Boreddontpanic@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 You have yet to justify them being there or any of their actions. You mentioned a law that can’t possibly be enforced (public sidewalks can’t have activities regulated).
Upon arrival, said activity was not taking place.
No PC. No RAS. All escalation.
Bootlicker.
@ACABImmunity@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 Understanding the law isn't boot licking genius. I think the whole incident was an unnecessary escalation. I do my best to know the law to avoid any contact with law enforcement. If you want to be a rebel that's fine just expect law enforcement to give you problems.
@ACABImmunity@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 That is the grounds of the Texas state capital. The code I posted goes over the grounds of the capital. There doesn't need to be a sign. The excuse that someone didn't know has never been a good legal defense. The troopers enforced it she should have fought it in court.
@Boreddontpanic@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 So the code you listed doesn’t state the building is the building in the video.
There were no signs.
She wasn’t skating at the time the pig tyrants showed up.
Explain how a public sidewalk is part of the grounds of any public building (it’s not).
What does the GRS survey say?
@Boreddontpanic@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 Was she on the ground of the building that code was referencing? Or was she in a public park? Was there a sign saying no skating that referenced the code? The video doesn’t tell you it seems.
@raymo97556@PoliceThePolic1 Can't find a single news report of ICE agents getting attacked at their house. I can find many news reports of ICE agents using excessive force and no being held accountable for it.
@Boreddontpanic@PoliceThePolic1 Reason for masks is that people use facial recognition to find out where agents live and attack them at home. These types of incidents are up more than 3k percent.
@ACABImmunity@LegallyDashing@PoliceThePolic1 13 Tex. Admin. Code § 111.27
(f) For the safety of the public, skateboarding, roller skating, roller blading, and related activities are prohibited in the building, garages, and grounds under the authority of the State Preservation Board.
@Avabelly__ To start I wouldn't go in because of a spider. Individuals that have arachnophobia act much different. I'm not say I haven't slain a spider before.
