We are preparing for critical fire weather and elevated wildfire risk in Colorado on Monday. Evolving weather forecasts from Sunday for Monday include very high winds, low humidity and dry vegetation. As a public safety measure to prevent wildfires, we are evaluating the potential need to proactively turn off power for customers in Adams, Boulder, Jefferson and eastern Denver counties, starting on Monday, Oct. 20, at around 11 a.m. Temporarily shutting off power – known as a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) – is not a step taken lightly and is only used when other methods are not enough to help prevent wildfires.
