25 year old small businesses that have survived recessions, lockdowns etc, but couldn't survive what these two business-wreckers have done to the economy and the costs of running a business.

This is a whole hospitality issue - so we need a hospitality wide soln. On average pub rates have gone up 76% or £13k and hotels 115% - a whopping £200k. That can’t be absorbed or passed on to consumers - it needs an urgent rethink

The fact that the Gov't are considering extending hours for pubs, highlights how out of touch they are with the sector.
They don't need extra hours, with extra costs, they need a reversal of the NI increase, reduction in Business rates and a lowering of VAT.
Extending hours is just a desperate headline.
