Yes, let’s do take a look and compare:
California ranks near the bottom in road quality — around 47th to 50th out of 50 states depending on the metric, but its bridges are closer to average. Here’s the breakdown from the most recent reports: - Roads : The Reason Foundation’s 2026 Annual Highway Report ranks California’s overall highway system 49th in cost-effectiveness and condition. It scores dead last (50th) in urban arterial pavement condition, 48th in urban interstate pavement, and 47th in rural interstate. Nearly one-third of its roads are in poor condition — worse than the national average of about 22%. - Bridges : Better news here. California ranks 25th in structurally deficient bridges, with about 6% in poor condition (right around the national average). ASCE gives them a C- grade. - Overall infrastructure : ASCE’s 2025 California Report Card gives the state a cumulative C- , below the national C grade. Roads specifically get a D . U.S. News ranks California 35th in infrastructure overall. The state spends a ton — one of the highest highway budgets in the country — but gets poor results, especially in its big urban areas where congestion is also the worst in the nation. It’s a classic case of money not translating to smooth pavement.
Becerra is just another empty suit grifting the public. The war will be over soon enough and gas prices will go down, but California fuel tax will still remain and Californians will still have the privilege of paying the highest prices for fuel while driving on the nations worst roads. There’s your comparison, Becerra.

Should California's .61 a gallon gas tax be temporarily suspended with gas prices so high?
@XavierBecerra: "how about we suspend Donald Trump and we can bring the price down much more than the .61 we get from the gas tax? If we don't have a gas tax, how do you keep your roads repaired, how do you build the bridges you need, how do you fill the potholes?"
I ask: "other states pay a lot lower gas taxes & they still have roads that work?"
Becerra: "Let's go take a look and compare."
Fellow Democratic candidate @MattMahanSJ says it should be temporarily suspended & replaced long term with something more progressive. He says the gas tax hurts people who can't afford electric vehicles; while electric vehicle owners benefit from others paying the tax.
Becerra: "Whether its an electric vehicle or not, you're using the roads. The gas tax provides us with the resources to fix the roads."

Yet he ignores the corruption in his own house. The only difference is that the President does do it out in the open while Congress and the bureaucrats do it behind closed doors out of site and it is a lot worse. The unfortunate truth is the public doesn’t seem to mind as long it is their guy that’s corrupt and he’s otherwise serving the interests of his constituency. Corruption in politics is not new, it is accepted and in many cases celebrated and defended. Look at the attempts to cut the fraud rife in USAID. Democrats went hyperbolic defending trans aid in Pakistan, or the Muppets show in Iraq, monies really going to NGOs that funneled back to democrat coffers. Or the House bill to stop the insider trading going on in both Houses. HR 7008 is stalled in committee and will die a quiet death. They have no intention of curtailing their own corruption. If you have a problem with the Presidents corruption you have to have a problem with it all. That the public doesn’t feel that way is hilarious to me because they are part of the same hypocrisy and don’t even realize it. Trumps corruption bad, Pelosi’s good because she does stuff for me. It’s all bad, people, and should be discouraged. If not, then you can’t hold one accountable while letting everyone else get away with it. It’s that simple and just don’t be a hypocrite about it. Senator Ossof and Krassenstein are both hypocrites and endorse democrat corruption while criticizing Trump’s corruption. Enlightened citizens have a problem with that.

@Scaramucci Scaramucci is a wannabe that became a punchline to a very bad joke and never recovered.

J.D. Vance is halfway through the woodchipper right now.
And if you don’t understand that the attack on the Pope was aimed directly at Vance — you don’t understand Donald Trump.
Vance converted to Catholicism. He’s writing a book about that conversion.
So Trump attacks the Pope. It destroys Vance.
He forces him onto Bret Baier’s show as a supplicant.
Kneeling to Trump instead of his own God.
That’s the message. I will emasculate you publicly and you will thank me for it.
Trump wants to be the last Republican president.
He wants to tell the party — you were nothing before me. You’re nothing after me.
He doesn’t want Rubio or Vance to succeed him.
He doesn’t want anyone taking credit for anything he built.
It’s one man’s show. Always has been.
If Vance had the nerve — the real move is to resign.
He won’t. He’s too ambitious and too cunning.

@drtom878 @Scaramucci In other words he’s a politician. Don’t think for a minute there is a difference between democrat or republican. They are all cut from the same cloth.
English

@Scaramucci Trump is a narcissistic sociopath & everything Scaramucci says here is consistent with Trump’s psychopathology. Vance is a Machiavellian sociopath & will do or say anything to achieve his aims.

@amyjohsonwh Reform is not possible as it relies on the political and ruling class to do it and for self preservation they would do everything they can to thwart it. In the parlance of our forefathers, it may be time to give the Tree of Liberty a trim. God knows it needs it.

From Russiagate to two impeachments, COVID policies, the Hunter Biden laptop story, questions around Biden's fitness, and the wave of legal actions against Trump...
The chain of events that defined an era.
Do you believe accountability is still possible in Washington, or has the system become too broken to fix?
Drop your thoughts
a) Full transparency and reforms needed
b) Move on, focus on the future
c) Something else entirely?

@Buddapilot @rachelbsol18 @archivekamala @dcpetterson @CoryBooker @grok These are cynical times, my friend.
English

.@CoryBooker: “You may disagree with her [Kamala Harris] on 10% of her views, but you let someone get in office who you disagree with on everything. You let somebody get in office who is locking up our children. You let somebody in office who is taking away our healthcare.”
English

@Buddapilot @rachelbsol18 @archivekamala @dcpetterson @CoryBooker @grok True. He's added "death" and "dying."

@RepJeffries And Therein lies the problem. No it should not be. It should be spent on those things articulated in the constitution.
English

@CAgovernor All good. Have you stopped issuing CDLs to illegal immigrants/immigrants that can’t speak or read English?
English

@RealSpitfire He should be arrested and tried for treason upon his return. This SOB is one of the worst.

It’s funny, that the only forever war going on is Ukraine which the democrats support almost exclusively and it has nothing to do with our interests or sovereignty. Yet the Iran war where Iran is an existential threat, has killed hundreds of Americans and has been at war for 47 years with us, they are against and want to capitulate. How do these people get elected and how can that even be considered reasonable?
English

@RepJayapal Cheap price to pay to war against our enemies and protect the nation. We probably get more per dollar on defense spending than we get from education spending.
English

@LibTearCreator1 When a pope enters the political arena he will be treated as such.
English

“Sen. Thom Tillis, a lifelong Catholic, is urging President Trump to apologize to Pope Leo XIV.
Tillis claims Trump has been treating the Pope like just another politician instead of a spiritual leader.
What does that even mean? Has the Pope never weighed in on political issues?”
