Other than drawing, I want to talk about the Iron Hands and Tau more... but I've always felt like my reasons for liking them are a bit out of sync with others, so I often just keep quiet I usually do some common ground (I think) when I draw, though

@BiologicalNN @ThomasS29792991 @Andr3jH @MatjazLeonardis Assuming a spacecraft the mass of the international space station, You would need 5,493 metric tons of fuel using a photon engine to get the almost 79 million seconds of thrust that are in two and a half years. About twice the total fuel of a saturn V rocket.

Travelling at 99.99999% of the speed of light a spaceship could cover 22000 light years in just 10 years of proper time. Nothing in known physics forbids this and there's no reason to believe a civilization existing tens of thousands or millions of years couldn't accomplish it.

Science fiction nerds are gonna hate me for saying this but the Great Filter is that interstellar travel is probably more or less impossible and there is no reason to come up with any other explanation for that.

@Andr3jH @MatjazLeonardis Ok. Imagine you can avoid dust and debris. You'd still need to accelerate and decelerate at a rate that wouldn't destroy a living being (assuming you want to transport living beings). You couldn't do the full 10 years at that speed.

@SpookyDL_ Actually hitler canonically was killed after the CIA Seers realized he would start WW2. I'm not even joking. They prevented ww1 and ww2 by using prophecy to figure out what needed to change.

@AustinJtodd @misopogon11 The Magos in question here is actually wrong for multiple reasons, a lot of which get explained later in the book. The itch and it's roots in body dysmorphia is not incorrect, but it is faulty to assume that it does not offer the iron hands any benefits.

alright alright matty has decided to make his rounds on deadlock twitter this time and is being bashed for it so i'll defend his honor a little bit first off, this is not an objective tier list of how hard a character is to pick up. this is matty's personal opinion on how impressed he is with each characters skill expression when he watches/gets killed by/whatever. you SHOULD disagree with it because it is such an subjective take. i personally disagree with a lot of the placements because i have my own biases. his placements are unconventional but they aren't rage bait, matty is an aimer, he practiced this one specific skill so much he's undoubtable surpassed any pro player from any esport in this one skill. so when he puts mina and infernus at the top he's not thinking about nox nostra or dash infernus, or the guy new to shooters and has mediocre aim and still gets lots of value out of the character, when he sees good tracking he's impressed. its hard to be impressed with macro play on a micro level, there's not really anything to clip or point to, when lash gets a 6 man ult you dont know if he giga brain set that up of more likely he got lucky with an unaware enemy team. you dont see the thought processes behind it, so the impressiveness comes from being top ranks, winning tournaments, general understanding of the game rather than character micro which is what this tierlist is about

@poe_collector I can super recommend FUNKe's "Deadlock Guide For My Employed Friends". Following its principles let me climb up to Ascendant. I was coming at it from a hero shooter background, though. You coming from League might be better suited to like, Eskay's movement guide.

@Borotech @thehorizon2b2t @IndisValleyChud Actually, reading my post again "Carved a bunch of shit out of the crust, made the moon, made the plates more able to move around." Is all factually correct information. a bunch of the material of the curst WAS ejected, it DID make the moon, and helped the plate tectonics.

@BurningBuild1ng @thehorizon2b2t @IndisValleyChud It is not just an incorrect term. The very implication that the impact itself left and arranged any solid crust on earth surface is wrong. It was much later on the long resolidified earth that the internal heat caused the continents to form. Which is completely different.

@Borotech @thehorizon2b2t @IndisValleyChud This is a little pedantic for my point of the massive impact being likely responsible for plate tectonics being expressed as "carving". Especially because a shit load of material WAS ejected, you can go outside and look at it orbiting over head right now. I only got 280 chars bro

@BurningBuild1ng @thehorizon2b2t @IndisValleyChud The continental plates were not carved out from such an impact. There were no large continental plates for a long time. They have grown over time and split again. Earth didn't have continental plates for the first billion years.
