In Ohio today, Minister @nsanzimanasabin met with Dr Tomislav Mihaljevic, CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic, and senior leadership to discuss potential collaboration between the clinic and Rwanda’s hospitals. The delegation also met with Dr. Marcello Fantoni, Vice President of Global Education at Kent State University, and Northeast Ohio Medical University to explore academic and research collaboration, and exchanged with Rwandan students studying at Kent State.

Minister @nsanzimanasabin held engagements in Boston, USA with global health leaders and with faculty, residents and Rwandan students at Harvard University. He delivered the Paul Farmer–Victor Dzau Lecture in Global Health Equity, reflecting on Rwanda’s health sector transformation following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Key reflections: * Rwanda’s recovery was shaped by values-based leadership grounded in Unity, Thinking Big, and Accountability, with equity as a central principle. * Long-standing partnerships were instrumental, including the collaboration with Paul Farmer and his friends and colleagues at Harvard University, remembered in Rwanda as Muganga Mwiza (the Good Doctor). * Rwanda’s health system has evolved from crisis response to expanded access and infrastructure, and increasingly toward quality, technology, and a specialized workforce, while keeping primary health care strong. This next phase is guided by evidence-based policy, real-time data, and strengthened epidemic preparedness.

Today, Year III Biomedical Laboratory Sciences students from @INES_Ruhengeri visited the Histopathology Laboratory at @ButaroHospital as part of our ongoing support for medical and allied health education. Students gained practical skills in tissue processing @RwandaHealth
