China’s solar power plant in Dunhuang uses around 12,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central tower, heating molten salt to extreme temperatures. That heat is stored and used to generate electricity on demand, including after sunset.

Not a new thing, but it is a technology I find really cool and wish they would build in Australia.
The original version of this system just boiled the water, making power in the day time, but the molten salt will stay hot for hours after sunset, so it can keep boiling water.

a bit late but happy 20th anniversary Ace Combat Zero : The Belkan War . my second favorite after 04, and only by a very close margin.
The darkest Ace Combat thematically for sure, and brought in some really unique presentation with the live action documentaries, squadron introduction, ace styles, assault records , aerial combats being likened to dueling knights, and of course the flamenco guitar!
