@CFCTruestBlue We would need a massive overhaul in defense to be able to field Palmer, Rogers, and Steve.

@objective_cfc I wouldn't be mad at either tbh. Rogers offers a new dynamic off of that side that we don't have and has great distance shooting capabilities. If Ndiaye can find his shooting & crossing boots consistently, he will be a very dangerous forward imo.

@objective_cfc Great read. Personally I think the golden ticket lays somewhere in-between. Sign these young talents, but a few at a time and then surround them with some winners and some experience, but experience being senior game time, big games played (finals), international experience etc

Every extreme will create extreme consequences Both positive&negative Roman brought an extreme winning culture to Chelsea. A reputation for ruthlessness in the quest for more silverware Win now. No excuses. For me, there are huge positives to this ‘zero patience environment’ -you only have to look at the 18yr trophy haul to see evidence of this …at the same time, there are huge negatives too imo League consistency in his tenure being a huge issue which is arguably the main KPI for a serious institution For me, just because something was successful -doesnt mean it was optimal Lots of calls at the moment for a change in model back to ‘Romans way of thinking’ …&with that lots of pride around Chelsea’s winning culture with cries of this isn’t ‘Chelsea standards’ The counter to this is if Romans model was so perfect &Chelsea’s winning culture ‘optimal for success’ …then objectively, why did CFC only manage back to back title wins once in his entire 18yr tenure? …&that all the way back in 2006 If the true marker for an incredible side is league dominance (Pep/Ferguson) then surely if it was such a marriage made in heaven we should have expected more? …especially with such a huge financial advantage It looked incredible for the first 5yrs, what happened? From 2011 onwards, fleeting one off titles followed by yoyo’s up&down the league was masked with cup wins (some major) disguising this frustrating reality. Objectively, we won the league 5times in Romans tenure&he sacked all the managers who achieved this the very next season the moment things got rocky, with minimal backlash or questioning from the fan base. …quite the opposite infact, often encouraged. Again, nothing wrong with this. But its extreme&as I said, any extreme we’ll create extreme consequences. It’ll attract in players, managers&fans that resonate with this ‘win at all costs’ short term approach …&repel those that desire a more stable environment that will give them time to work &build something truly special. We cant forget Pep flat out rejected Chelsea when we wanted to secure his services with big concerns over the culture. We reached 3CL finals&won 2, making history …look closer however&you will see 2 of those finals were with interim managers &with Tuchel, although permanent, he only took charge 6mnths earlier after Lampard sacking This wasnt logical reversed engineered strategic genius. This was extreme short term thinking that arguably got lucky With players, we began to start looking at the future with Mata, Lukaku, KDB &Salah only for Mourinho to sell all of them focused primarily on the 2015 league campaign ‘Win now, forget tomorrow’ decisions can look great in the moment until tomorrow comes Short term thinking = short term results =🪀 The questions I have: Did Roman take it too far&with that condition CFC fans with a toxic mentality? Is the current extreme Chelsea ‘win now’ zero patience culture actually creating a metaphoric ‘success ceiling’ thats actually stopping us reaching the next level? Is it possible to build something truly special without an element of patience? Does the model need to change? Does the culture need to change? …is there an argument that both need to evolve if were truly going to take the the step? Will a more patient approach enable us to smash through a ceiling&become a team capable of 5/6 league titles like City? ...or will it lead to a drop in standards that will have us looking like 'Emirates era' Arsenal quicker than you can say 'Arsene Wenger' Questions questions questions A huge topic for discussion Think I’m going to open up this can of worms & write an article Titled: "Do Chelsea have a zero patience toxic fan culture hidden behind the guise of standards that is actually inhibiting the clubs success or have the ownership unintentionally stuck a stick in a bees nest&what we're witnessing is a normal justifiable backlash" These are some initial thoughts for now though 🔵

I know it’s just rumors at the moment, but I actually don’t hate the idea of Darwin Nunez at Chelsea. He certainly has the experience that we lack and knows how to win major honors. He isn’t flawless, but I think he’s more than serviceable as a rotation option with JP.

@3CFC31LAL33 @breezy_345 Oops the first "imo" was supposed to say "in moments" My bad 😅 I agree, I'm taking Jackson over him, especially for 60-90 mins of play. But I think that bridge is burned and as a cameo ST Nunez can provide those Jackson moments with some added bonuses

@ReasonFE @Chels1an Yes no doubt he's good. But It's not just about statistics & opinions when it comes to leaders and experience though. How many international caps does he have? How many cup finals? European games? Big games? Harry has wisdom he can pass down, just like T. Silva did with Levi

@CFCTruestBlue @Chels1an Statistically Tarkowski is better than he is in the air offensively and defensively he also can ping a ball better than maguire and maturity I think he exudes it far more than maguire both on and off the pitch. Hence me saying the Gold standard

There are very few Premier League proven CBs who we can actually get who would improve our starting 2 and if I see anyone say “Murillo” “Senesi” or “Van Hecke” I’m gonna lose it Depth signings fair enough I’ll consider it but none of those 3 improve a Colwill-Fofana pairing

🚨BREAKING: Privately, the club have assured Cucurella and Reece James that signings with proven Premier League experience will arrive at centre‑back, central midfield and in attacking areas. [BBC]

@ReasonFE @Chels1an I disagree, I think Maguire would be a welcome addition. He's a unit in the air, defensively and offensively, he can ping a ball and he adds some much needed maturity and leadership both on and off the pitch.

@CFCTruestBlue @Chels1an I agree with the maguire shout but he’s not what we need also he just signed a new contract at United But if we are going with real aerial duelling demons then this is the gold standard If you ask me this is who we should get but he’s too old and he’s too slow for how we play

TrueBlueCFC@CFCTruestBlue

@stilllinskyy When you understand that players have to earn their place, come back to me. This is going nowhere because you think he's just gonna get given minutes he hasn't earned. 3-5 games would benefit him obviously, but he probably won't get that unless he comes back with a bang.

the only key thing missing from his game right now is confidence I don’t know how people don’t see it but this guy looks even more ready than Garnacho currently and it’s sad I can’t prove it. 3/5 games with solid minutes in a row and everyone would eat up their words asap
TrueBlueCFC@CFCTruestBlue

@stilllinskyy You don't just give a player more game time because "They need to play more" That's not how it works. What manager is going to be like: "I'm in a race for UCL and a cup so I'm going to play this underperforming player because more minutes might make him improve" None.

@stilllinskyy He needs to earn those games, which he currently hasn't done and probably won't do. So yes a loan where he can get back to full confidence will benefit him. Not that hard to understand is it

@stilllinskyy I watch Dortmund almost weekly and have done for 20+ years. Chelsea is not Dortmund, It's a completely different place to play that takes a different mentality. The loan is needed for confidence. Him & Nacho have different skillsets, Nacho has more chances created than cole

@CFCTruestBlue if you’ve watched him play at Dortmund (last season aside) you’d get what I’m saying. He doesn’t need a loan for his age,his decision making is top,he’s extremely raw but he’ll take on his man and create chances if he’s playing consistently (something Garnacho won’t do)

@stilllinskyy The kid needs to build confidence, that's probably not gonna happen at Chelsea with all of the pressure. His mindset is fragile, he needs it hardening

@CFCTruestBlue Would def be good for his confidence. I would also love to see mudryk reignite his career there tbh. Gittens would have to play RW, but both would absolutely tear it up.

Whilst i agree with you the time gap is the issue imo. Open to being wrong (and will hold my hands up if so) but I personally think Gittens is missing some mental foundations required to perform at a club with this amount of pressure/expectation and that’s inhibiting him massively. I’m concerned with him for this reason. From what I’ve seen, he’s generally a shy nice kid - and he plays that’s way - within himself. Because of this we’re going to have to be patient as he adapts to the pressure of the environment. I can personally be patient for a while longer because I feel his technical foundations are very very high - but in truth I’m in the minority. Patience and this fan base/club culture aren’t really synonymous at the minute man. Also, the club will have to recruit someone whilst we wait which also isn’t good for him. The club need to learn from this one especially because of the fee involved - they will imo. For me, he’s basically the polar opposite of Noni btw… Noni Required Mentality ✅ Required Technical ❎ Gittens Required Mentality ❎ Required Technical ✅
Vince™@Blue_Footy

Every time I hear "But you said the same thing about Gittens". I still don't doubt the boy's ability. We should learn to give kids adaptation time before judging them. Till tomorrow, I believe he has a more well-rounded skill set than Garnacho as a LW. If Chelsea want to sell one of the two, I will be surprised if they decide to sell Gittens. The boy will come good; it's only a matter of time. Look at how many years it took Doku to settle down at City. At Chelsea, it's always now or never for some people, with zero context. I still see a serious talent. He just needs time to adapt and gain confidence. Every youngster adapts differently; what matters is the ability he has that you are trying to maximise. When Gittens finally settles down, you will see what I'm saying.
