Yeah it’s definitely getting chipped and not that he’s 6’ so over the course of a season he lets in a good number of goals that look like worldies but are fairly routine for a 6’4”+ keeper

@Chels1an @TheFalseNein So, you've moved the goal posts from "hes good at shot stopping" to "he has usually out performed Raya at post shot xg?" Raya gets chipped like 3x a year being a sweeper keeper, hes never going to do well vs xg lol.

I might be the only one, but as obvious as it is that we have a goalkeeping problem and need to sign one, Penders isn’t the solution. He’s not even better than Sanchez at the moment. Shot stopping: PSxG GA: Sanchez 97.4 vs Penders 48.0 Command of area: Aerials won: Sanchez 77.0 vs Penders 23.7 Interceptions: Sanchez 76.3 vs Penders 2.6 Right now, Sanchez is the better goalkeeper. Long term, Penders might have the higher ceiling, especially for possession football.

@objective_cfc @east_colin I think if we'd have gone Josh-Fofana all year after Josh handled Mateta on MW1 we'd be much better off than we are now, or at least about the same Josh would've made mistakes but so did everyone else through the first 2/3 of the season, but he'd have 2500 minutes under his belt

People who’ve been relentlessly slagging off Trev with soon realise this seasons reality without him imo - It’ll be a lot worse. Same with Neto. (Newcastle as an example) You may not rate him but he’s one of our best CB’s & you’ll see a negative difference without him imo

@olijcarpenter would've been 2 good seasons out of 4 (with 1/2 of 1 season injured) if Rosenior didn't shit the bed against PSG 28m GKs have done a lot worse, Mamardashvilli cost the same and has played like 10 games

@Chels1an In 4 years 1 decent GK season ain't gonna cut it I'm afraid. Record fee for a keeper followed by Jorgensen. Getting that position right alone would have saved us so much pain

@olijcarpenter Not for me. Sanchez under Maresca was performing as a top 3 GK in the league and his numbers were among the best in Europe
