My friend is a proceduralist at a big medical center — best clinician in his department. He stays late to help colleagues and comes in nights/weekends when not on call (no pay) to help colleagues. He wins teacher of the year every year. The job was killing him. He quit on Thursday. He changed his mind on Monday. His chair told him it was too late — the department had already posted his position. No matter how dedicated you are to the hospital, the hospital is not dedicated to you. #MedTwitter

@EbonyJHilton_MD Had a similar experience at the gym. Person at the next shower stall near me. Snorting. Hacking. Blowing nose in shower. Repeatedly. Over and over. Am I the only one who thought they should have stayed home??
