The @TesFalia gets its own account. Time will tell if this leads to more frequent updates. Please follow @TesFalia if you'd like more Model 3 into Vanagon Camper details.

Back to the Supercharger with 23%, plenty. I need a faster compressor for airing back up!

Has anyone scientifically comparison tasted refrigerators for the Model Y subtrunk? Temperature regulation and spread, capacity, efficiency and sound levels all are important metrics. At 30L this was the largest I found at the time that fit with minor modifications. But, as feared, it has poor insulation, runs continuously on a 90 deg day with poor temperature spread despite a fridge fan. I might rebuild it more efficiently, but would rather buy quality that’s tested in desert use. My trusty Engle 42 is very good, but a poor physical fit. Link to my current one: amzn.to/4cpvefD

Exactly. Also I’m in the desert, cooking out of the kitchen in the rear hatch and sleeping inside the car with windows partially open and one door open. I’m relaxing under a shade cloth attached to the rear hatch. I’ll get to the nearest charger with 20%, as long as I don’t lose any juice during the week here.

@Joostnietsmeer @CafeElectric e.g. You're at an RC fly-in and you have your tent setup next to the car. Leaving the back of the car open gives you easy access to the contents, the hatch creates more shaded space, and you can tie the tent to it to avoid Dorothy-to-Oz scenarios.

Loving the first rev of my “Fake Door Closers.” They let the car sleep in Low Power Mode with the doors open. Used to lose ~0.2 miles of ideal range every time I opened a door, more if I left them open. Now the car sleeps all day and night. STL files will be free for 3D printing when I get home.

On the Toyos compared to stock 19s there is the expected truck tire hum, not intrusive but it’s noticeable. Road handling is not as precise, maybe better since I’m running 50psi but my first impression at 42 psi on a windy highway was that it wandered a bit more with gusts. Ride quality maybe softer than stock, didn’t check. Much softer on washboard roads at 30 psi. Range reduced 15-20% even at 50 psi unless I slow down from my usual “standard” on FSD. Still checking if temperature affects this, possibly extra poor when cold?

The daily solar harvest far outpaces my cooking needs. Every day or two, when the battery bank hits 100%, I drain half of it into the Tesla - gaining 4 miles of range. Very little, but nice when parked in the remote desert for a week.

@Clifford98506 At home I tested the 20A rate for the full capacity. It held up. 👍🏼

@CafeElectric 20A is a great rate if it can be sustained. I wasn't able to do it consistently the last time I tried charge from my solar battery pack. 👍

Yes, those and the BF Goodrich were my other options but in 18s since I can fit them on the Y. Hard to find any real data on any of them so I took a chance. Lots of opinions, but hard to find efficiency or toughness comparisons. Sharp volcanic rock has bit me with street tires so I weighed toughness reports higher. I suspect the Falken is more efficient, but again I have no good data, just a friend with them on his Y. In addition to other friends, A geologist in Death Vally has used Toyo for decades and claims he never had a failure! All anecdotal of course but it makes me feel good since he’s on these roads all the time. 😆

Death Valley, California. IYKYK Bucket list. I’ve been wanting to drive an EV here for decades. Finally “Firehorse” is a capable ride. Tesla Nav not only had the remote backroads, but was pretty accurate too.

Has anyone seen a mattress set up for Cybertruck to sleep on passenger side by taking out seat? Might have a lot more room for someone who’s over 6 foot!
