Been MIA/offline but have just been spending time with family and hitting the books. Now I’m hitting labs and dedicated to finishing this NP by Spring

One of my best friends since I was 16 is in serious risk of losing his home. AJ (aka Lurch) is one of the kindest gentle giants you will ever meet. I typically hate asking others for help, but I’m setting all of that aside and asking for anything that you can spare to help him. AJ and his wife got married March 30th. On April 3rd, AJ went in for a routine heart value replacement surgery and ended up getting pneumonia in the hospital which in turn caused a blood clot that traveled to his brain and cause him to have a terrible stroke. The stroke left AJ paralyzed on the left side of his body. He is currently in a rehabilitation facility downtown Chicago that is working to improve his motor skills and speech. We are working to get AJ on full disability but they are saying it can take almost a year to get approved. AJ’s FMLA (Short term disability) ran out and he was terminated from his job so they wouldn’t have to keep paying for his insurance. Michelle lost her job when she unexpectedly had to become a full time caregiver to AJ. I will be an organizing a benefit concert later this summer to help raise funds for AJ’s medical bills. Right now we are trying to save them from losing their home. I’m confident that if we come together we can make this goal. I truly appreciate the consideration and any help you can provide.
