OpenMC does an excellent job packing TRISO particles, but holy cow is transport slow! I'm getting 167 neutrons/second, gasp.

Hey TRISO modelers, when you build a neutronics input with TRISO fuel, what are your favorite ways to set a given packing fraction without cutting off particles on the edge of your pebble or compact? Does everyone just write a packing script?

Asserting that submarine reactors ~ civil reactors is a remarkably common handwave. Interestingly it gets deployed either to support RR SMR or to suggest that we don't build advanced reactors because we're too fond of military technology.
