Opposing taller buildings in Indian cities is a bizarre leftist position. It ends up punishing the poorest by making drainage, waste management, cables, electricity and public transit far costlier & worse, while forcing endless sprawl where cutting lakhs of trees becomes normal.

@Kakabhushundi True. Liberalism equals to nehruvian civics nationalism meanwhile current is populism

Hi @chennaicorp, this is a residential area, at the entrance of the street in Perungudi, there is private property used like marshland, reptiles, mosquito and heavy bad smell always comes, we nearby residents tried to find the owner but it seems he is in foreign

@IndianUrbanist High-rises don't correspond to higher density e.g. Eixample of Barcelona and Hausmann buildings of Paris. Construction cost increases exponentially after 8 or 10 floors. We should develop G+5 mixed use. I prefer G+3 because elevator isn't necessary. Main villian is FAR

MLA @EcrPSaravanann might have gotten one account suspended as expected, but more will come. I will keep demanding for a banner and poster free Chennai and will get further under his thin skin. @CMOTamilnadu @BussyAnand

social democracy has worked everytime its been tried

I am not sure why everyone is expecting grandiose libertrarian moves when the govt itself came to power on a freebie welfare platform. Any move to cut benefits or move things rightward will cause public backlash. Common people still expect the government to "take care" of them.
