@DorotheaBaur @doctorow What about interns using LLMs? Wouldn’t that help them get ahead quicker, and not be as dense as an LLM alone (or an intern alone)?

Why LLMs are like slot machines rather than interns. Helping an intern builds future talent. Helping an LLM either polishes the tool meant to replace you (if you believe that) or it wastes time on a clueless “dense intern” that never learns. @doctorow

@MKupperman You can get around this by setting a random dictionary as the source of truth and calling for “meaning challenges” (where you can be challenged on knowing the meaning of a word you play). “Gu” might be a word in some obscure Scrabble dictionary somewhere, but no define, no use

We played Scrabble with a friend who loved Scrabble. It turned she played online against the computer, had memorized all the 2-letter and foreign slang words that are allowed there. She enjoyed herself immensely but none of the rest of us did

Few months ago me, my fiancée and my in-laws were playing a game where we tried to name songs that tell an actual story with the lyrics. We were all having fun until my father in law started naming like 10 of them at once. He had pulled up chat gpt and ruined the game instantly.
