@davkilner Hi David. Eight conifers are being removed from Alexandra Gardens and will be replaced immediately with eight large holly trees. The existing conifers' dense and low-growing foliage has been providing cover for repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour in the park. 1/2

The Taff in Hailey Park - sanitary towel and wipe festooned trees courtesy of @DwrCymru They shouldn't be flushed but when @DwrCymru know they have been they shouldn't discharge them into the river. Lots of other plastic waste @cardiffcouncil @DwrCymru clean it up

@FrannysTash @walpoleg @JulieMorganLAB @CardiffSave @cardiffcouncil @Amanwy Absolutely, the Cardiff "forest" project is being assessed at the moment and its basically a joke. The majority of the trees planted across the city rely on 'volunteer groups' to look after the trees so many of them are predicted to not survive the first 3 years.

So after some help from twitter & ecosia it seems this was probably an endoscope & the "ecologist" was doing a bat survey half way through cutting down this beautiful oak. Let's hope that nice big bit of loose bark wasn't part of a bat roost being ignored 🦇 @CardiffSave @_BCT_

Ecologist then chucks some stuff down from the tree, don't know what it was and has long chat with project director before moving on to poke her wire device into the next branch. If anyone knows what this device is or what it's looking for that would be useful thanks
