@babybeginner Very very very important to use the back part of the blade when you do this otherwise you risk cutting a lil piece of knuckle off (ask me how I know)

All my life I’ve seen chefs talk about bending your knuckles when you chop veggies but every time I tried, it seemed more dangerous to me. This is honestly the first video that explained it to me. I’m probably the only one who doesn’t know this.

The last time Trump disappeared for several days was about 90 days ago. Does anyone know of any treatments or infusions that are given at 90-day intervals?

Now this is one wild story. The amount of lawsuits coming down the pipeline with stories like this is going to be astronomical.

@Mericamemed why didn't you copyright it? if you didn't want to lose ownership rights. fuck those platforms, its not because you uploaded that they protect your rights. you must inform yourself on copyright law. i hope you can retrieve the rights or just make new music and make sure its yours

@Ancapta This is such a strange way to view STEM (chem major, philosophy minor here). Yes my phil classes were hard in a different way than, say, PChem, but calculus taught me *how* to think. Lots of pattern recognition you learn in STEM translates to social science, imo you need both

At the top end I expect STEM and humanities to be about equal cognitively. It's just that STEM has a longer "runway" that's conceptually-easy, coursework-heavy, so to speak. Takes years to learn calculus, physics, chemistry, etc., but it doesn't really require *thinking* (1/4)
Matthew Cole@mattbencole

The biggest cliche in higher ed is that STEM classes are hard and humanities/social sci classes are fluff. But how often I see STEM majors fighting for their lives if there are more than 40 pages of reading per class or essay assignments that presume they've done the reading.

@itsmrbarrel very funny to watch this play out as a tennis fan, where the same complaining happened in the first year or so. “It can’t be o accurate,” “it should be the linesman’s call” etc. We’re like 5 years into automatic calls and no one complains about it anymore bc it’s way better

Imagine setting up a physical piece of sheet metal, the exact size of the zone, and calling balls/strikes based on the "ting" of the ball clipping the metal (Wiffle ball does this). ABS is just the digital form of that, and people arguing this shouldn't be overturned are essentially saying the "ting" isn't loud enough.
AT@BaseballWRLD_

I’ll never understand why there are people who think pitches this close shouldn’t be overturned by ABS The ball is touching the zone. It’s a strike. The player should be rewarded for challenging a pitch that close and being correct.

@chudcrusher @CommonEnemySSBM Similar thing in tennis, automated line calls are used on tour but college and below still relies on the players to call lines and chair umps to overrule bad calls. ABS won’t be used outside of the majors anytime soon so catchers will still have to frame pitches

@CommonEnemySSBM Easy. Pitch framing is sick and that’s a huge part of catcher strategy out the window if we go full robot

I was telling a friend who doesn't watch much baseball about how much I enjoyed the ABS system and he asked me "well, then why not just go full automated strike zone" and I really didn't have a super compelling answer beyond "the vibes would be off"
