Strange distinctly says that the spell will make people forget that Peter is Spider-Man, so he bares some blame for that not registering that Strange wasn’t excluding anyone. On the other hand, Strange shouldn’t have used a spell with side effects that dangerous.

@GAltringham I think most people do know about it actually. Remember Secret Invasion actually had a fair amount of hype to it going in as it was following GOTG 3’s momentum. It’s when Maria was killed that people checked out.

@PeterPorker97 To be fair, this wasn’t so much their own choice, but because they were bound by the MCU’s constantly in motion timeline. Flashing back to follow up on Homecoming when Endgame just happened would be kind of awkward.

They wanted to reap the benefits of connective universe storytelling, but didn’t understand the basics of why it was a success for the MCU. All they did was pander resulting in multiverse nonsense like this or Vulture getting sent to their universe.

@variablelace @thevenomsite I still believe there was no reason to have a scene like this if it wasn't specifically made to retcon the Symbiote being left behind in the MCU. Why include a different slice of the Venom Symbiote being left in a different bar? That makes no sense without some kinda of reason.

@DanaTano501 @CraftyAdrian360 I'd say the issue was how the movie was making a point about how this is Gwen's life to live and her father and Peter had no right to act like they know what is for her own good only for the movie to kill her less than a few minutes after making that speech.

You guys have to understand the concept that movies can have well written and emotionally impactful scenes in isolation but those scenes are fundamentally ruined and or not supported well by the scenes that came before that undermine or break the narrative.
