Very excited to get the first look at the newest Plant Right no-till drill! We have begun to build a 4-inch row spacing drill using the row units pictured in this video, in order to plant #hemp and #flax. Each row will have 400 lbs of down pressure on row units that can travel 17 inches up and down and Precision Planting seed meters for seed singulation! Huge shout out to IND HEMP and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for making this possible!

Never did this before. Used three different drills the same day! Started the morning with our John Deere 1590 planting oats and peas as a cover crop. Then we used the Esch 12 ft 5.5 in row spacing drill to plant 20 acres of flax. Ended up the day or should I say, the night, using the Plant Right 15 ft drill with 6-in row spacing. This is the type of drill we will be building our 4-in row spacing next year for hemp and flax using @PrecisionPlant seed meters.

It's 11:30 p.m. and rain is moving in. We have about an hour's worth of planting to do so we're just going to keep right on going!

Training the next generation how to check seed depth!

@VictorHolistic We can singulate up to 2 million seeds per acre but since that is much lower than most flax is planted we will not singulate all the seeds. That being said it will be a more controlled planting rate than most drills can accomplish.

@CoverCropCoach Our first hemp emerged yesterday on our farm in Alberta.

These little #hemp plants are from seed that fell to the ground last fall from mature hemp plants. They sprouted as soon as the snow melted. This picture was taken 30 hours after we had a morning low of 21°. It's an amazing little plant!

The hemp seeds are cracking!
