When a FOIA request on the CIA’s detention and interrogation program takes nearly 12 years... and it ends with a document released years earlier with very few changes, it raises important questions about how transparency works.

@DrChrisCombs Haha this was actually my inspiration while animating color gradients with my limited 3d modeling skills

⚡️🇧🇾🇷🇺 | Russian and Belarusian Military Installations 1.6.0 - Boundaries Update
I've completed a new update of my years-long project in Google Earth to map all possible-to-find Russian and Belarusian military, paramilitary and security-related units and facilities across the globe (integrated into order of battle to the fullest extent).
The main new feature of this update are boundaries, which are meant to mark the perimeter of the units and facilities (eg. pic 3).
The database contains thousands of units, facilities and sites from all branches of the Russian and Belarusian state apparatus, including Russian and Belarusian Armed Forces, Rosgvardiya, FSB, KGB, Ministry of Emergency Situations and Federal Protective Service.
The work on the project started in late 2019.
DOWNLOAD:
mediafire.com/file/kozpuq6zn…
Quick instruction:
1. Download the "RBMIv1.6.rar" file and open it with WinRAR.
2. Open "RBMIv1.6.kmz" with Google Earth.
3. Explore the database the way you like it. You can find more detailed explanation of icons used in the project in "OpenMe.txt" file.
Special thanks to @breakingcraft_ for sharing his work as it allowed me to correct and add many things. Big thanks also to @BAAService for his contribution. Other mentions included in "OpenMe.txt" file.
If you contributed in any way to the project and I've missed you, let me know, I will correct that.
If you have any questions, corrections or criticism, feel free to hit me up.
RBMI 1.6.0 CHANGELOG:
- Added boundaries, meant to mark the perimeter of the units and facilities;
- Expanded Strategic Missile Forces database - "stationary" regiments now have individual silos marked on map;
- Expanded FSB Border Guard database;
-Corrected boundaries for the Moscow and Leningrad Military District;
- Reassigned appropriate units and formations under the Moscow and Leningrad Military District command;
- Added Federal Department for the Safe Storage and Destruction of Chemical Weapons;
- Added missing 104th Guards Airborne Division subunits;
- Added 44th Army Corps of the Leningrad Military District;
- Added 3rd and 51st Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (former 1st and 2nd Army Corps);
- Updated names of commanders;
- Hundreds of smaller updates and corrections;

Especially when they decide to misinterpret the data. I've worked with both @HighMarsed and @Jonpy99 to analyze Russian storage bases and people constantly misinterpret the data to say either "Russia is about to run out of _", or "you've been saying for years Russia is out of _"
English

I'd bet this person has never bought a single sat image, let alone spent hundreds of hours painstakingly counting AND identifying vehicles like @HighMarsed and @Jonpy99 have.
It's incredibly laborious work. So you can imagine the frustration when someone steals it without credit
Jompy@Jonpy99
Holy shit this is so fucking infuriating, always the same "Russia has ran out of stuff" shit. Using my content while distorting what I say is just why I'm so fucking tired of trying to explain jackshit. youtube.com/watch?v=TJhLvT…
English

@XFilesAesthetic It's not that crazy, but a new one I never heard before.
I was in SE Ohio a few weeks ago, went to West Virginia to drive-in theater and overheard a woman in the concessions line say her friends cousin saw Dogman! Went down a Reddit rabbit hole on that one later that night

English

@Playfra0 It's @secretsqrl123 , he will lie/cheat/steal anything to get views. You do amazing work! Don't let him bring you down!
English

And he continues using my stuff again and again without saying a word. Absurd.

@Jonpy99 @waffentraeger One total count I had once was 1,234
I almost recounted the whole thing again just to hopefully come up with one more or less in fear of it sounding made up haha
English

@waffentraeger Those round numbers that sometimes happen look like we make them up. I hate them lmao.
English

And with that we have confirmed a drop of 4000 tanks from the prewar footage. Which does fit quite well with the visually confirmed losses. Actual losses will be higher, but so will be the tanks removed from inside storages. Overall RU might have retained its tank force, for now.

Jompy@Jonpy99
Just 145 T-80B/BVs and 53 T-80U/UDs left in storage, and most likely all of them in poor condition. By fall I expect it to drop to 0. Omsktransmash needs more to work.
English

@aXielMeMer9432 @A36848080 @TruthWarrior2 They told me it depends on individual provider... if it's Planet, Airbus, etc. Gotta read each long and tedious EULA unfortunately. For the most part though, if you're not using it for commercial reasons (ie making money) you're ok, but each provider varies
English

@A36848080 @TruthWarrior2 When we purchase footage from skywatch we are allowed to post it right? I want to make sure there are not procedures I have to follow.

@aXielMeMer9432 @Jonpy99 That base has always been interesting. Went from a storage base, to huge staging site leading up to the war, and ever since seems to be more of a depot/repair base for vehicles going in and out of Ukraine
English

@Jonpy99 @CovertCabal I noticed for this base that in the field to the south several military vehicles are there.
English

1/ @aXielMeMer9432 and @waffentraeger just found a lot of updated images boht on Google and Livingatlas. Among these, there are several major storage bases, and as usual, the pattern is them becoming depleted. Let's see a few of them.

English

@PetTheGreat1 Haha. I've noticed Google tends to put new imagery up in the beginning of the month, so it's something I consider when buying Pleiades Neo images (what Google uses mostly these days)
But we got the video out first, so I'm just happy we got to see it and share it a but earlier!
English

@AntaresTuitero @HighMarsed Here's a quick graphic I made when we were thinking through this. It seems clear-cut, but when actually looking at and classifying each tank, a lot of times it's up for interpretation, hence why some numbers from different people may vary. Hopefully not by much though!

English

@AntaresTuitero @HighMarsed 'Worst' are those visibly missing parts, like barrels, turrets, engines, etc, and would need a ton of work to ever make operational (but still technically possible).
We also had our own 5th cat, 'Ignore', which are just scrap piles rusted out beyond any hope of use or value.
English

Here it is: the first Russian central tank storage base without any tanks!
