My friend saved nearly ₹10,000 because he checked one more option before taking a Loan. A few days ago,he urgently needed around ₹1.2 lakh. Like most people, he opened a personal-loan app. The offer was as. ✅ Loan Amount: ₹1,43,000 ✅ EMI: ₹13,730 ✅ Tenure: 12 months At first glance, everything seemed normal. But after adding interest, processing fees and GST, the total repayment crossed ₹1.71 lakh. Just before accepting the offer,he thought of checkinghis credit card offer once. Surprisingly, the card offered a wallet-transfer facility ✅ Amount Transferred: Around ₹1.40 lakh ✅ EMI: ₹13,237 ✅ Tenure: 12 months Even after including the processing fee and GST, the total repayment was nearly ₹10,000 lower than the personal loan. Same requirement. Same tenure. But nearly ₹10,000 saved. That is when I realised something important: We often accept the first loan offer because the requirement is urgent. But urgency should not stop us from comparing. A difference of only ₹500 per month may appear small, but processing fees, GST and interest can quietly increase the final repayment by ₹10,000–₹20,000. Before borrowing, always check multiple options. Because a smaller-looking EMI is not always the cheaper deal. In his case, checking one extra option saved him nearly ₹10,000. Now tell me honestly when you need money urgently, do you compare every available offer, or accept the first EMI that looks affordable?
