@iam_sijo99 Way too much 21st century films here. Hereditary at #1 is suspect. Where is Poltergeist, Alien, Suspiria, The Thing, Jaws, Carrie, Black Christmas, Nosferatu, Dracula??

@SamaHoole @ess918082 Simply not true. Ancient gladiators were literally known as 'barley men'. Carbs are the primary fuel of civilization--beans, rice, potatoes, wheat, etc.

The receipt you grabbed at the store just coated your fingers in BPA, a chemical your body mistakes for estrogen. Takes about 5 seconds. A single receipt carries 250 to 1,000 times more BPA than what leaks into your food from a can. The BPA in a can is locked inside the lining. The BPA on a receipt just sits on the surface, completely loose, and rubs off on your fingers the moment you touch it. That's not a comparison I expected. Wet or greasy hands absorb 10 times more. But a 2014 University of Missouri study found something worse: using hand sanitizer before touching a receipt increased BPA absorption by up to 185 times. They had people use Purell, grab a receipt, then eat french fries with that hand. Within 90 minutes, BPA showed up in their blood at levels tied to higher rates of heart disease and diabetes. The CDC found BPA in 93% of Americans aged 6 and older. Cashiers who handle receipts all day carry 30% more BPA than the average person. And when BPA enters through your skin instead of your stomach, it stays in your body for days longer because it completely bypasses the liver. Europe took this seriously. In 2023, their food safety authority cut the safe daily BPA limit by 20,000 times. They had already banned it in receipt paper back in 2020. Japan did it in 2001. The US still has zero federal restrictions on BPA in receipts. Washington State is the first to ban all receipt bisphenols (BPA and its chemical cousins) starting January 2026. "BPA-free" on a receipt is mostly a label swap. The replacement, BPS, is nearly identical. Europe's chemicals agency says BPS likely carries the same health risks. By 2022, BPS paper made up 61% of the European receipt market. Swapping one hormone disruptor for a less studied one. Dr. Rhonda Patrick is right in this video. Skip the paper receipt when you can. If you have to take one, do not touch it right after hand sanitizer, lotion, or sunscreen. Those products break down your skin's protective layer, which is exactly what lets BPA flood in. Quick way to check any receipt: scratch the printed side. Dark mark means thermal paper.

@life_beforefame @AdjustedHockey @DailyFaceoff Jagr is a bit of an odd case cuz the Pens were so loaded up front . . He wasn't on the #1 line regularly until his 5th season in 94-95 when Mario took a year off. He wasn't a mainstay on Mario's line other than the 95-96 season -- the last time 2 teammates scored 60+ goals.

@Byron_D11 @the_habitant That cuts both ways. Sometimes having to carry the load yourself helps you accumulate stats for various reasons. You don't share the puck as much and are often playing from behind instead of protecting leads. Look who Mario played with when he had 199 points in 1989.

McDavid led the entire league in points in his second season when he hit 100 in 82 games The second highest point producers were Patrick Kane and Sidney Crosby, with 89 each. This season, Kucherov would have been on a 148 point pace if he played a full 82 games, and McDavid IS on pace for 137. I don’t think we can be comparing their second seasons like that.

Macklin Celebrini & Connor McDavid in their 2nd NHL season: Celebrini: 101 points (38G + 63A) in 72 GP McDavid: 100 points (30G + 70A) in 82 GP Does Celebrini have more potential than McDavid??

“I took my daughter to school healthy and safe, and I got her back fighting for her life.” That is the message a mother in Round Rock, Texas wants people to hear. Alliyah says that on January 12, she dropped her young daughter, who has special needs, off at Hutto Elementary School. Her child showed no signs of injury and was doing fine when she was left at school. A few hours later, Alliyah says she received a call saying her daughter had fallen from a chair about one and a half to two feet high, hit her head, and had been unconscious for roughly 40 minutes. What happened next, Alliyah says, is almost impossible to understand. She says her daughter was moved before her spine was properly stabilized, and no school staff member went with her in the ambulance. After arriving at the hospital, her daughter needed emergency spinal surgery. Alliyah says her child also suffered a brain bleed and a stroke. Today, her daughter remains in critical condition. She is on a breathing tube, and her lungs are failing after developing pneumonia. Alliyah says the infection was caused by bacteria acquired in the hospital following surgery. This little girl is still fighting for her life. Alliyah is asking for prayers and guidance, unsure of what to do next and fearing the worst. Whether this was a tragic accident or something more, let’s stand with this mother and help keep her strong for her daughter.

In 2022, Paula Denison entered the emergency room at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Mississippi with a headache and altered mental status. Two hours later, her family was told that she was brain dead and an organ procurement company was contacted, even though she had not been legally declared dead by an MD. That happened after another two hours. So, Denison’s care switched: she was not given treatment for her brain injury, but was shunted toward efforts to preserve and protect her organs. By 2 a.m. the next day, the lawsuit states, “Ms. Denison received various medical treatments and procedures, including laboratory testing of her blood and urine, culturing of blood and sputum samples, fluid administration, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and surgical procedures. The surgical procedures included incising Ms. Denison's abdomen and obtaining biopsies of her liver to test for acceptable organ donation.” Despite not receiving proper neurological care, however, Denison began to improve: “Notwithstanding continued increasing levels of medication administration, Ms. Denison continued to improve neurologically, and was exhibiting reactive pupils, spontaneous respirations, opening of her mouth wide to gag when suctioned, physically flexing and moving in response to painful stimuli, and physiologically reacting to pain by exhibiting reactive changes in her blood pressure and heart rate…the Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency (MORA) determined that Ms. Denison was not an acceptable organ donor, because she ‘did not meet neurologic criteria,’ i.e., she was not dead.” Denison was then transferred back to Anderson from the MORA facility, where she died two days later. We will never know how much Paula Denison might have improved if doctors had treated her original condition aggressively instead of writing her off as an organ donor. Her family is suing.

Update on Flight Attendant… She was sitting in her jump seat directly behind the cockpit when Air Canada Express Flight 8646 collided with a fire truck on Runway 4 at LaGuardia Airport. On impact, Solange Tremblay, the senior flight attendant on board, was ejected more than 320 feet from the wreckage. She was found on the tarmac, still strapped to her seat. She was conscious for all of it. Her daughter Sarah Lépine called it "a total miracle." Aviation safety experts agreed, saying her survival was extraordinary given the complete destruction of the cockpit just feet from where she was sitting. Her four-point harness jump seat, designed to withstand extreme crash loads, likely saved her life. But Solange's fight is far from over. Her injuries are severe: two shattered legs with open fractures requiring multiple surgeries and metal plates, a fractured spine, skin grafts needed for the flesh she lost sliding across the tarmac, and complications that led to a blood transfusion. She still faces several more surgeries and intensive rehabilitation to learn how to walk again. Her daughter and cousin have set up a GoFundMe to help the family. The funds will allow Sarah and Solange's husband Denis to take time off work to be by her side as she recovers in a New York hospital for the foreseeable future. "My mother dedicated her entire life as a flight attendant and was very proud of her work," Sarah wrote. "Right now, my mom needs your help.”

So he went founder mode on his own survival. - Built his own treatments - Used AI to analyze his own tumor data - Open-sourced 25TB of his medical records for any researcher on earth Relapse-free since 2025. The system said he was out of options. He made his own.

In 1995, a nurse broke hospital rules to place a newborn into her twin sister’s incubator. The baby was not expected to survive. Kyrie and Brielle Jackson were born 12 weeks early at a hospital in the United States. Each weighed roughly two pounds. They were placed in separate incubators, standard practice to prevent infection. Kyrie gained strength. Brielle did not. Three weeks after birth, Brielle went into critical condition. Her oxygen dropped. Her heart rate spiked. Her skin turned bluish-grey. Nurse Gayle Kasparian tried everything. She held her. She had her father hold her. She wrapped her in a blanket. Nothing worked. Kasparian remembered hearing about a practice used in parts of Europe but never tried in American hospitals. She placed Brielle into Kyrie’s incubator. Their father described what happened next: “She snuggled up to Kyrie and she was just fine. It was immediate. It was absolutely immediate.” Within minutes, Brielle’s oxygen levels were the best they had been since she was born. As she slept, Kyrie stretched her left arm across her sister’s body and held her. Photographer Chris Christo captured the moment. The image spread around the world and became known as “The Rescuing Hug.” Hospitals across multiple countries began placing premature twins together, a practice that had been resisted for decades. Both girls went home healthy. They are now 30.
