@JonathanBaumst4 @JordanLeandre55 I remember seeing a triple or maybe it was an inside the park home run when I was a kid on a hard hit ball that rolled through the outfielders legs. No error because it was so bad he didn't touch the ball. It's a wonky rule

Why should contacting the ball be the determining factor? If he can’t see it, he can’t see it. I personally don’t understand why losing the ball in the sun is NOT an error in today’s day and age. I understand why that was the case decades ago, but players should be more prepared for it now.

The sun creates a level of difficulty that I think shouldn't penalize the player unless he contacts the ball. I wouldn't call it ridiculous to just label it an error I just think the only person who *definitely* shouldn't get punished for that run scoring is the pitcher.
Chuck@Cwebb3455

@JordanLeandre55 If the outfielder allows A guy to score in what should be a routine play why don't you want it to be an error? I've always thought the scoring of outfield errors was dumb but making it so it's no one's fault seems worse

@JordanLeandre55 I mean someone is at fault at the end of the day. I don't want a new stat for divine runs due to acts of God

I think there needs to be a bit more discretion in how that impacts ERA. I don’t think it has to be an error but it shouldn’t be an earned run either if that guy scores on what would’ve otherwise been a routine play
DP@LuigiScal

@JordanLeandre55 Official scorers make me cringe. If an outfielder can't catch an easy fly ball because of the sun, he deserves an error.

I'm not arguing this season. I'll get roped into a few, I'm sure. But I'm going back to my positive roots (this is null and void if someone's a raging bigoted asshole in my mentions)

I’ll be honest, in Lexington we had a serious conversation about signing Trevor Bauer. We had connections to him and not much was 100% known about his legal situation, so we decided to give it a look. Then we talked to about 8 former teammates. That was all we needed to know.

@OleTimeHardball I feel like the bottom row is most well rounded. However Bonds is famously prickly with teammates and Speaker was in the KKK so that might not be the best pairing chemistry wise. Give me the middle I Guess

@_DockEllis @SmallCapVal @IndyBallNation How do you know Bauer might. This guy might love getting choked and punched while taking it up the ass too. I don't think you have enough information to state This as a fact

@TwistedFocus99 @BaseballBros one out of 30 is 5 wins over a full season so I don't necessarily disagree with your premise. The Bananas have a better chance if it's played early spring training like WBC and college is exhibitions though. The numbers we are using are before pitchers are fully stretched out too

@Cwebb3455 @BaseballBros I defer to WBC where a teams without a single MLB player beat a teams with all-star MLB rosters. Baseball is a funny game... 30 in a row is so hard.

@TwistedFocus99 @BaseballBros I think in games a major league team actually cares about that number is probably closer to 1 out of 50. I was surprised MLB teams had actually lost to college since I knew the Sox hadn't. I can't even fathom the reaction if they actually lost one of those

@Cwebb3455 @BaseballBros I agree it may have been 2-1, a one score game. And that a ST game won't be a full MLB roster. A college team has likely no MLB or MiLB player. SB are better than that. I'm not calling them completive. Simply that they wouldn't lose 30 straight.

@TwistedFocus99 @BaseballBros I remember the Sox winning 2 1 not 1 0 but I'll take your word for it. Looking for others I see 3 examples. In one example the college team used some of the Orioles pitchers. Fangraphs says college teams have lost 94% and that is with mostly minor league players playing

@BaseballBros MLB teams play College Teams and even High School teams, in Spring Training and often lose. I think if they played 30x, the Rockies would win some games by 30.. but they'd lose 2 or 3 time too. The Dodgers would likely lose 1 too.. that's how baseball goes.
