#Bengals committed essentially 3 years/$70M to Dexter Lawrence, per reports.
Limiting new money to just one extra year is a win. Deal makes even more sense from their perspective.
Locked in for his age 28-30 seasons at $23.3M per.
No. 10 is steep, but in win-now moment, hard to argue.

I was on the phone with a GM less than an hour ago running through top 10 scenarios. The way we had it going, we both said, “the bengals are screwed.” Well, not anymore. This trade makes a ton of sense for them.

Compensation update: Now that he has passed his physical and the trade is official, newly-acquired DT Dexter Lawerence is signing a one-year, $28 million contract extension with the Bengals, per @WinSportsGroup So in the end, Lawrence gets the trade he wanted while being contractually tied to Cincinnati for the next three seasons.
