Despite the constant danger, Ephraim held tightly to his Jewish faith. During Passover in 1944, while in hiding, 14-year-old Ephraim prepared his very own Passover Haggadah booklet from memory. Few people know the extent of this, but during the Holocaust, there was a network of Catholics, priests, nuns, individuals, and families who helped rescue Jewish people. Free speech is a core value of our civilization. We need to stop Bill C-9. This bill is designed to limit your speech by labeling you as an Islamophobe or racist without any specific definition. We don’t lack laws in Canada. If the authorities do not enforce the existing laws against jihadists, and if the RCMP and CSIS receive advice from Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups, it does not mean that a new law will stop the hate rallies and the glorification of terrorism in our streets. Suspected Terrorist Finance Network Linked to Vancouver Company Faces U.S. Sanctions The United States has imposed sanctions on a company based in Vancouver, alleging it is connected to financial operations supporting the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah. Seven Seas for International Trading and Logistics (1380892 B.C. LTD) is one of 16 entities and individuals targeted by the U.S. Treasury Department. Officials claim the network is headed by Hezbollah financier Alaa Hassan Hamieh who holds a Canadian passport and has been added to the Specially Designated Nationals List. According to U.S. authorities, the group managed by Hamieh along with relatives and close associates has generated over $100 million in funds for Hezbollah, serving as a significant channel for the organization’s financing. The Treasury Department identified Raoof Fadel, a founder of Seven Seas who is reportedly based in Qatar, as a key figure working closely with Hamieh and others involved in Hezbollah’s financial activities. Officials further allege that Hamieh controls several businesses linked to Hezbollah, some of which are used to facilitate procurement and launder money. They say he has attempted to conceal his involvement by placing family members and associates in leadership roles within these companies. As a result of the sanctions, Seven Seas is now prohibited from conducting business in the United States. Additionally, U.S. individuals, companies, and anyone operating within the country are barred from engaging in transactions with the firm.
