Illinois has produced some great jazz singers. This is little known singer, Billie Poole, born in Edwardsville in 1929, started singing at an early age. Her family moved to California in 1943 and started singing in choirs. She cut two albums. Here is "Royal Garden Blues" with The High Society Jazzman. She sang for Memphis Slim and later in gospel choirs. She passed away in 2005. On another note, let's make Illinois great again and flip it red.

@ATLChamps9521 Not since playing softball in 1989...hitting the baseball wasn't as hard as I thought. Did something not many 67 yo can. I'm pleased what I did. If I could do it for ATL, I would. Can't do much worse than most of them are doing now...on the mound or at the plate. They lost.

@ATLChamps9521 I used to think 30, 40 & 50 was old until I got there. With 70 staring me in the face, that number isn't old. I can die happy knowing I tried out for senior league team last month...hit 2 HRs and hit 95 on the radar. I was shocked. Then my arm fell off last week.
