If Texans can’t spend more than they earn, neither should their government. As Comptroller, I’ll hold the line on spending by strictly enforcing the Texas Constitution’s balanced budget requirement.

@DocPeteChambers That would be a train wreck! That would create a whole bunch of Houston and Dallas ISDs which do not function very well. As a rural Texan I personally like that I have local control. This would take this away.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) faces criticism for being perceived as overly bureaucratic, lacking transparency, and failing to consistently improve educational outcomes across the state. Key to this are ongoing legal and political controversies over accountability ratings, concerns regarding state takeovers of local school districts, inefficiencies and funding. I agree sir. PS: If we consolidate the 1208 school districts in Texas into 150 voter districts we can save 80% of the overall budget and pay less administrative costs and more to teachers in the classrooms. An audit would help develop this feasibility.
Tanner Mizell@TannerforHD130

Texas spends billions on education yet ranks 26–29 nationwide. We need a full audit of TEA to ensure transparency, accountability, and real solutions. Parents deserve confidence in schools, and Texas should lead the nation, not struggle to keep up.

I’m Mindy Bumgarner and I’m excited to announce my campaign for the Texas State Board of Education District 14. I’m running as a Republican to give parents a stronger voice, support our teachers, and keep education focused on the basics without political agendas.

@TPPF @JamesQuinteroTX Do you know who is responsible for the values? Of course you do….the PVS study and the state comptroller! Quit blaming local government and look at the real culprit for exploding tax bills!

@BradBuckleyDVM Is this 3 tests or 4? Is there a writing test thrown in the mix. This is NOT good for kids…Have you not seen the amount of parents opting out and making scores go down because they count as failures. Parents are speaking loudly! Are yall listening?

HB 8: STAAR❌ Ends “one test, one day”✅ Creates shorter tests✅ Through-year growth✅ Results within 48 hrs✅ Less test anxiety✅ Predictable cut scores✅ JROTC included in CCMR✅ More legislative oversight✅ A better system for students, teachers and parents.
Texas Freedom Alliance@TXFreeAlliance

The days of STAAR testing are numbered. Thanks to the leadership of Rep. @BradBuckleyDVM, HB 8 marks a historic shift for Texas education. This landmark bill ends the era of high-stakes, one-size-fits-all STAAR testing and replaces it with instructionally supportive assessments that measure real learning and return accountability to local school districts. Texas students and teachers deserve better than a test-driven system, and Rep. Buckley is leading the charge to deliver a smarter, stronger approach that truly puts kids first. The Texas Freedom Alliance proudly thanks Rep. Brad Buckley for his vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to restoring common sense in our classrooms and ensuring Texas students get the education they deserve. #txlege

Texas doesn’t have a surplus. Texans have been overcharged. As Comptroller, I’ll fight to return every surplus dollar to taxpayers through maximum property tax relief.

@JBorregoTX You are correctt communities are stuck with the tab of the high influx of people migrating to the state. Maybe subsidies and incentives to recruit busineses should stop to mitigate this problem

🚨How much you’re on the hook for?🚨 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 arcgis.com/apps/dashboard… Texans can finally see what local officials don’t want you to know. Punch in your address. See how much debt your city, county & school district have dumped on you. They racked it up. You’re stuck with the tab. #txlege

I just held a rally in Plano, TX — a red part of the state — and 1,000 people showed up. Many said it was their first political rally ever. There’s something happening in Texas…

Nearly $500 billion in local debt. And 59% of city bonds passed with less than 10% turnout. Texas is being indentured by bonds that hardly anybody voted for. @GregAbbott_TX is right: No new taxes without a supermajority of voters signing off. #xlege

Local governments in Texas are passing BILLIONS in new borrowing and tax increases with just ONE vote. Not by one vote. But with only one total vote. It's time to make some changes to bond elections.
