World: You can cancel with a tackle but it might hurt. Slinger burst lets you skip a part of the combo.
Nowadays: Tackle + focus mode aiming + timing offset attacks + perfect guard in a pinch.

Okay, maybe "skill" was a bad phrasing.
I meant that the newer games focus more on reflexive, reaction based, active combat, while in the older games skill comes more from timing and positioning.
That's why I said skill does matter for the old games in the second line 🙂

My main issue with the recent MH games is that he outcome of a hunt is now entirely based on player skill In the older games skill definitely mattered, but preparation, knowledge and planning were a much larger focus, playing into the idea of being a hunter rather than a warrior

@BannedDino @FrostDrakeHeart I think it's a bit different because for most weapons, Wilds is third person melee combat targeting a manual reticle, while traditionally games in that genre use Z-targeting, or just some sort of soft lockon.

Can someone legitimately tell me how is an optional feature in seikret being detrimental to the whole "hunting" the monster part because I genuinely cannot comprehend how people cant just not use it
You can even hide the ui if you want to, run around and find the monster
