@Jeff_Davis1808 In short, need permit now for an organized group to place flags but individuals are fine. I’ve placed flags there by myself over the years because that’s the honorable thing to do.

The question of whether the flags needed to be approved first is a minor issue. The fact that someone would destroy honors at a grave site is disgusting to all Americans. themountaineer.com/news/mysteriou…

"With all my devotion to the Union, and the feeling of loyalty & duty of an American citizen, I have not been able to make up my mind to raise my hand against my relatives, my children, my home." ~ Robert E. Lee to his Sister, April 20, 1861

@DelDanHelmer You are disgusting. My Robert E License plate isn’t going anywhere. I’m adding to support Confederate flag sites more than ever.

The Confederacy was a four year period in which traitors hellbent on preserving slavery tried - and then failed - to divide the Union. The Confederacy and its leaders do not deserve our commemoration, and its adherents certainly do not deserve taxpayer dollars.

Heartbroken by the loss of life of multiple service members in the Middle East. We thank them profoundly for their patriotism, mourn with their families and wish those who have been seriously injured a full recovery. No more American heroes need to die because of a reckless decision to go to war. Congress must act this week to restrain this President.

Salute! The Wilkes County Confederate Monument in downtown Washington, Georgia! The soldiers commemorated here answered the call of duty when their homeland faced invasion. Far from fighting for the institution of slavery, they took up arms to defend their families and homes.

Even critics agree the Confederate Battleflag is one of the most perfect and iconic flag designs in history. Consider its vexillology: simplicity, bold colors, meaningful symbolism (St. Andrew's cross), and distinctiveness that makes it instantly recognizable and memorable.

This year, make a New Year’s resolution that matters: get out and support living history! Take your family, your kids, your friends—go to a "Civil" War reenactment at least once. Keep American history breathing. Show up! #reenactment #reenactors #livinghistory #historymatters
