I took a nap and had the most awesome dream ever. It was a sort of Nerf war scenario but with Halo weapons, I vividly remember using a Jackal shield and energy sword, I was looking up a staircase and seeing a guy in a bubble shield chugging whisky while holding a spartan laser.

I love the Master Chief, but I agree! He should get a final swansong that introduces fans who haven't played Halo Wars to Red Team in an organic way. That kind of baton-pass was one of the many, foundational stupidities that drove me to write Halo: Judgment. It's an original 16-mission campaign that sees Master Chief ally with Red Team, the Arbiter, Lasky, Palmer, and a fallen shade of Offensive Bias as they fight a two-front war with Atriox and a Flood-worshipping cult that's trying to help the Gravemind assimilate the Endless. Please give it a read! It took me five months to write, and I would appreciate any feedback (or shares, if you like what you see!)

If they dont sunset chief as the over-arching character for Halo and replace him with Jerome next then they're lost the plot.

okay after watching his new video about the Master Chief's death, I am publicly begging @HiddenXperia to read Halo: Judgment. It basically includes everything he's looking for in a future Halo game. If it sucks, I formally grant him the right to make fun of me on the internet.

yeah, and they don't reply to DMs either. i tried to post Halo: Judgment there for feedback, because only diehard Halo fans would even understand, let alone want to read, a 16-mission fan sequel to Halo Infinite, but it kept getting auto-moderated, even though people post their own art all the time? i post there often enough that one share should be permitted under their rules, but idk... it's a bummer, because i spent months writing a 465-page script and i just want to know if it makes sense lol

The moderators on the Halo subreddit are the WORST lmao never posting there again Post gets over 1,200 upvotes with a 100% upvote ratio and gets removed for literally no reason lol

Might be controversial, but I find Infinite's MP gameplay to be ludicrously fun, especially after the last year of updates. MCC is also a pretty amazing product. I know 343i didn't have all that much to do with MCC's content, story-wise (only H4 and all the annoying additional H2A scenes), but I think people generally allow a few defects to overshadow how awesome that collection is. I still alternate between Infinite and MCC, and I'm sometimes amazed at how much it all feels like "Halo" despite all the games, modes, and Forge experiences being so different. To "revitalize" Halo's cultural cache, I really think you'd just need a competent story (where Master Chief talks *slightly less often* about his feelings), a plucky but capable Cortana (the Joyeuse thing is such a miss...), a more faithful adherence to Bungie-era visual design, and the same tried-and-true in-house development ethos. So, basically, have the same experienced devs make a new game that looks more like Halo and where the story is a tight, linear piece of genre fiction without all the baked-in transmedia pretense. Probably a pipe dream, but I'd love to see Halo return to being the thing everyone you meet is playing.

What needs to be done to revive the Halo franchise? 🤔

@NomadicAllo i wish i could like @SgdBenjamin's render more than once. especially love the iridescent CE Elite. it's almost like the extra shiny armor in CE was a tactical choice to scatter more light in snow and nostalgic 2000s tropical beaches
