@WriterJohnBuck But I am suggesting that it is more commonly used to refer to the ritual act of worship that Christians also name the Divine Liturgy, Holy Communion, Lord’s Supper. This is its primary meaning.

@WriterJohnBuck Hmm, when I celebrate the Eucharist, it sure seems like an action to me. The priest says stuff and moves around. The laity say stuff and do stuff. I give them the Body & Blood of Christ. They open their mouths and partake. And all this is happening by the action of the Spirit.

@EOrthodoxy Eucharist is a proper noun, as it refers to a person (Jesus Christ), whereas baptism refers to an action.
